Kai was still getting used to the neighborhood. He hadn’t been living in the warehouse for long and the sketchy area it was in set him a bit more on edge than he figured it would in a few months or even weeks. Perhaps it was because he was so on edge, he happened to notice when someone tried lifting his wallet. He caught her by the wrist, raising an eyebrow at the girl. “First rule of being a thief? Don’t get caught. Second rule? Don’t steal from other thieves.”
