It was late on a Friday night and you were sat at your desk grading papers. As you shift uncomfortably, your chair creaks beneath you. It had been hours of grading, your back was killing you and you'd much rather be at home. The only reason you were here so late was because being at home gave you room to think about your ex-boyfriend, Derek. The two of you had broken up and it was your choice. Now, a month later, you're left questioning if you had made a mistake. Lately, to rid yourself of the thoughts, you had been distracting yourself in any way you can. One of the easiest distractions being work, but everytime you think you're in the clear of him, the look on this face from that night comes back…
You were sat on your plush couch, wrapped up in a warm blanket. Every Sunday, you and Derek had a movie night, so he was in the kitchen making popcorn for the both of you to share. You already had the movie set up so now you were just waiting on your boyfriend. As you wait, Derek's words from last night come back to you, they had been playing in your head all day. He had told you that he loves you for the first time as you laid on his chest, the both of you cuddled in bed. You had pretended to be asleep so that he couldn't question why you didn't say it back, but you were wide awake after that.
Derek returns from the kitchen with the fresh popcorn, setting it down and plopping down next to you. He pulls your legs up to rest on his lap and begins massaging your calf lovingly as he presses play on the movie. The movie was loud but your thoughts were louder. Derek had said the words "I love you" last night but now you were realizing all the ways he says it quietly too. The way he was always massaging your legs with such care and appreciation, the way he would endure watching movies he hated just because he knew you loved them, the way he would listen and remember small details about you that you only mentioned once, the way he would go out of his way to plan dates that left you smiling so hard that your cheeks ached.
As those realizations hit you, you carefully pull your legs from his hold, crossing them under you. Derek spares you a quick glace, his brows furrowing slightly before returning his attention back to the movie. He knew you loved his massages but figured that maybe you were going to get up to grab water or something. When he looks over at you once again, he sees that you aren't planning to get up at all. In fact, you had shifted your body away from him, and you weren't watching the movie anymore. You were biting at your bottom lip and messing with the hem of your sweater. Derek knew this behavior from you was unsual, he could tell something was upsetting you. He pauses the movie and shifts in his seat on the couch to face you. He places a hand on your thigh to get your attention, giving it a light squeeze.
"Baby, what's wrong?" He asks, his tone concerned.
You close your eyes to stop the tears that are threatening to spill. Guilt was beginning to overwhelm you as you try to find the words to explain how you've been feeling. You were starting to feel like you were suffocating and you needed this feeling to go away, you needed to get out. Finally gathering the courage to say what's on your mind, you turn to face him.
"I don't know if I can keep pretending that everything is fine, Derek. For awhile now, I've had this feeling like we've been moving too fast. I mean, you basically live here now and last night, I heard you when you told me you loved me. I was pretending to be asleep because I didn't know how to respond…I don't know, I just…can't."
Derek's brows furrow and he leans back, shifting his body away from you as he processes your words. He has so much he wants to say, but the only words he can get out is, "You can't what?"
His voice had come out strained, like he was holding back his true emotions, like if he says too much, he'll lose his composure.
"I can't do this, us…anymore. You should find someone else who can love you the way you deserve to be loved. I'm sorry." You continue, voice shaking as you finally say the words weighing on your heart.
Derek angles himself to stare at you for a moment before hanging his head and giving a slow, disbelieving head shake. He then gets up from his seat on your couch, grabbing his things and leaving without a word.
…and suddenly you're back where you started, missing him. Truth is, you are in love with Derek. You were just too scared to admit it to him and most importantly, yourself. Commitment was never your strong suit. Anytime anyone got close to you, they'd leave. There was no doubt in your mind telling you that Derek would be any different. So you did what you do best, leave before they leave you.
You return your attention back to grading, ruminating over your breakup with Derek wasn't helping you. You reach for your stapler, pressing it down into the papers, only for it not to work. Trying it again and seeing the same result, you realize its empty. You check your desk drawer, and see it's missing the one thing you're looking for.
"Seriously?" You mutter to yourself as you stand up, deciding to head to the boiler room for supplies. You were getting low on a few other things as well and figured now would be a good time to stock up.
The school always had this eerie feeling to it at this time of night. The hallways were dark, the full moon being the only thing providing any illumination. It was only you here yet you couldn't help being a little on edge as you make your way down to the basement.
The boiler room was even creepier, but luckily there was a light. You switch it on as you begin sifting through the supplies. During your search, you hear some commotion that causes you to pause. Gripping onto the folders and paper you grabbed, you walk out to where you heard the noise.
"Hello? Is someone there?" You ask, goosebumps pebbling your skin.
You were about to dismiss it as your imagination when you see four glowing eyes. The figures emerge from the darkness, growling in your direction. One of them was a tall darkskinned man and the other was a short pale woman. Both of their faces taking on animal like features. They flash their fangs with a snarl as they move in closer to you.
You were stuck standing there in fear, you had never seen anything like this before. "Run" was all your brain could register. Finally, stepping back as your senses kick in, a man comes out of nowhere and tackles the two individuals. You take the opportunity to shut the fenced door and find a place to hide. You take shelter behind a shelf, shrinking down as much as you can.
The fighting goes on for what feels like forever. You begin looking around for something to defend yourself with, when the boiler room suddenly goes quiet. You hold your breathe as you hear footsteps approaching. You hear the creak of the fence door opening and you peak out to see your ex-boyfriend, Derek, covered in blood and deep cuts. Immediately, you shoot up from your spot in shock and run over to him.
You were about to speak before he cuts you off. "Are you okay? They didn't hurt you did they?" He asks, his eyes roaming over you, looking for any sign of injury.
"Are you kidding me? You're worried about me when you're the one bleeding!? Derek, how the hell are you alive right now? We gotta get you to the hospital before you bleed out! I'll call the police, I left my phone in my desk." You ramble in a panic, grabbing his hand as you try to rush him out the room.
He doesn't budge.
"No. No police, I'm okay." He states, his eye lids low with fatigue. He looked like he was on the verge of collapsing and he has the nerve to say no to help?
"Derek, you're gonna die if we don't. Are you crazy?" You exclaim.
"I'll heal…Its just gonna take some time." He replies as if you're supposed to understand anything he's saying. You think he must be going into shock, but then he lifts his arm to show you a shallow cut that is indeed starting to heal right before you. You watch with wide eyes as you see his skin start to repair itself.
"See? I just need time." He repeats. "I'll explain later but we need to get you home where you'll be safe."
You want to protest but Derek was already moving and dragging you with him. He walks on tired but determined legs all the way to his car. Opening his vehicle, he moves to get in but you stop him and hold out your hand for his keys. "If you think i'm letting you drive then you must have a concussion."
Derek huffs but doesn't argue, he hands you the keys before getting in the passenger seat. You're quiet the whole way there, processing everything that just happened. You didn't know whether to cry from relief that Derek was still alive, or to yell at him for denying medical attention despite this "ability" to heal without stitches. That in itself was confusing and you were being expected to trust that he won't die on the ride home. You couldn't help but look over at him every two seconds to see if he was still alive and breathing. His head was laid against the window, his breaths deepening as he rests.
Once at your place, the both of you head inside. The warm and cozy atmosphere enveloping you.
"Explain before I'll call you an ambulance." You state, already heading to your closet to grab the first aid kit. Derek takes a seat on your couch, leaning back as he gets comfortable. The kit now in your hands, you sit down next to him, lifting his shirt to clean his wounds. Some of his cuts had healed just like he said they would, but the deeper ones weren't going anywhere anytime soon.
"I'm gonna tell you as much as I can but I don't want you to freak out, okay?" He says, watching as you begin wiping the blood from his skin. You laugh, thinking, how much crazier can things get?
When he doesn't continue, clearly waiting for your verbal response, you speak. "Fine! okay…"
"The reason I can heal this fast is because i'm not human" He pauses, watching for your reaction. Your brows had furrowed with confusion but seeing as you weren't panicking yet, he continues. "I'm a werewolf, and I was born one. Those two you saw in the boiler room tonight, they are werewolves too. Now, before you lose it, I would never and will never hurt you. I need you to know that before I continue. You do know that, right?" He looks at you with pleading eyes, he needs you to believe him.
During his explanation you had put a pause on cleaning his skin. You didn't know what to expect but this was definitely was not it. All you could do is stare at him as you put the pieces together. All the times he would randomly make up some excuse to not stay over, why he was sometimes inexplainably warm, why he rarely got sick or injured, how he could hear things that you couldn't, his strength…
"Hey, you still with me?" He asks, snapping you out of your thoughts. You nod slowly, still processing. You know Derek would never hurt you, he literally saved your life tonight and that was proof enough. You just didn't have the words to explain how you're feeling. You decide to let him continue before voicing your thoughts.
Watching you return your attention back to his wounds, he goes on. "Their names are Boyd and Cora. Boyd is part of my pack…I offered to turn him awhile back and he said yes. Cora on the other hand-"
You cut him off, a puzzled look on your face. "Sorry, you turned him? How does that work?"
"One can be turned by being bitten or deeply scratched by an alpha, but it's not that easy. Not everyone survives it, but if they do, they will become a werewolf. Or in rare cases…something else. We had someone turn into a Kanima, but that's an explanation for another day." Derek explains.
You were intrigued but also a little frightened. There was this whole other world that existed and you had no idea.
"Cora is my little sister, born a werewolf like me. Both her and Boyd were kidnapped by this pack of alphas. They would have been killed if my pack and I didn't save them. The both of them were held in this bank vault for four months, with no full moon tranformations. When they were finally exposed to the moon after so long, they experienced bloodthirst. That's what you saw tonight. We were trying to hold them some place where they wouldn't be a danger to others. I had no idea you were going to be at the school tonight, otherwise I would have led them somewhere else. I don't know what I would have done if I lost you."
You start disinfecting his wounds, trying to understand what he's telling you, but you were so close to a breakdown. A few hours ago you had no idea any of this was possible. This was all just a bunch of folk lore and fiction to you, and now your ex-boyfriend, was telling you it's true. You felt crazy, like you were being pranked and that at any second he would start laughing and yell, "Got you!"
"I know I should have told you but I was just trying to protect you. My world is dangerous and I didn't want you involved. I can't be the reason you end up hurt or even worse…"
When you look up at him again and see he's serious, your eyes gloss over with tears. Derek, seeing the look on the face, gently pulls you into his embrace. You wanted to pull away and scream at him for keeping something like this from you, but you stayed put. The familiarity of it causes your body to betray you and melt into his hold the way you always used to.
It had felt like a lifetime since the two of you had been this close, neither of you wanted to move. Despite your rational thinking, you snuggled further into him, burying your face in the crook of his neck. The fact that the two of you were still broken up came to mind but you didn't want to think anymore. All you wanted was to be held by the man you love just like you useed to.
"I love you, Derek." The words come out before you can think about it. You pull yourself free from his hold to look at him. "I lied when I said I couldn't be with you anymore. Being with you was all I wanted but I was scared. Things were taking a serious turn between us and I was afraid that if I leaned into it, you'd eventually leave, and I'd be left heartbroken. So instead of taking the risk, I ended things. You didn't deserve that and I'm so sorry. I regretted it immediately."
You avert your eyes as you finish speaking. Yes, you were being vunerable now but it didn't mean that you werent scared of his reaction. Moving to bandage up his wounds and give your hands something to do, Derek stops you.
"Hey, look at me." He instructs.
Your eyes flick up to meet his and he's looking at you the way he always has, with devotion. Like no matter what you do or say, he will be there, loving you anyway.
"I love you too, I always have. I'm not going anywhere, okay?"
You're the one to pull him into an embrace this time, wrapping your arms around his neck tightly. Now with Derek's secret revealed, you had no idea what the future holds. All you know is that you want to be by his side for all of it. The good and the bad.

Today was the start of the baseball season. Your son, Cameron, had begged you to join. After some deliberation, you had finally agreed. You thought that this is could be good for Cameron, so now you were sat in the parking lot, in your old lancruiser that you've had since the age of sixteen, with him in the backseat. You look to the left, out your window, and see another mom getting out of her vehicle with her son. She looked all dolled up, dressed in a pretty yellow dress, her blonde hair cascading down her shoulders in big curls. She greets another woman, who was dressed in an outfit similar. Your brows scrunch together as you wonder if you missed out on something. Looking at the other women and children getting out of their vehicles, it clicks. You realize the mom's are dressed like that because of Steve Harrington.
This wasn't a surprise to you at this point. Teaching English at Hawkins Middle, you've seen plently of mom's linger around just for a chance to flirt with the coach. You couldn't necessarly blame them, Steve was attractive, he always had been. Back in highschool, you had a crush on him but it didn't go anywhere. You were considered a nerd while he was the popular jock that everyone loved. You never expected him to pay you any mind so eventually you moved on like one does, met your ex boyfriend and had Cameron.
However, you couldn't help but let your mind wonder sometimes. Imagining what your life would have been like, had just had the confidence to tell him how you felt. You think the old Steve probably would have laughed in your face, but the Steve you know now is nothing like him. He changed so much after highschool, you hardly recognized him. Robin says it was something called the "Upside Down" and these nasty creatures that changed him. As you begin to think, the memory of the conversation comes to the forefort of your brain.
"I know back in highschool he was an asshole but he's not like that anymore. I mean I would know, I'm stuck working with the dingus half the time. When we're not working, we are saving the world…One time we were in the upside down and there were these nasty Demo-Bats flying towards us to attack. Oh my god, if you were there, you would have gagged, but Steve-He ripped one apart and-"
"Robin, I'm gonna stop you there. That sounds disgusting." Had Robin continued, you would have had to cover your ears and think about anything else to stop your gag reflux.
"Fine, but you get the point right? He wouldn't be one of my best friend's if he was still a jerk."
You had given her a simple nod at the time, not being able to picture it. However, becoming Steve's co-worker this year had you reflecting. He really had changed. He had this confidence about him, and not like that fake confidence he had in highschool for others approval. This was different. You could see it in the way he would teach his students. The way he could answer any question they had without hestitation. You could see it in he way he moves. He always had you wanting to just stop and stare, and sometimes you did. Maybe it was in the hallway in passing, a school assembly, or in the mornings when his car pulled into the school parking lot at the same time as you.
"Mom!" Cameron speaks from behind you, startling you out of your thoughts. You turn to look at him in the backseat. You frown, getting a good look at him in his baseball uniform. How was he growing so fast? It felt like yesterday you were holding him in your arms as your rocked him to sleep.
"Yes?"
He points to the locked doors, "Can you we get out now? Practice is starting soon and everyone's already heading onto the field."
You nod, unlocking the doors, and fixing your appearance in the mirror before stepping out of the vehicle. You and Cameron began walking towards the field and the bleachers. Cameron, already seeing some of his school friends, runs to join them. Wanting to see how he does for his first practice, you take a seat on the bleachers.
The office door from the top of the bleachers swings open with a creak and you, along with the rest of the moms, turn to see who it is. Steve comes out, shines a smile your way and does a small wave to the all the mom's with one hand, a stack of papers grasped in his other. "I'm glad to see you here." He says to you before making his way down the bleachers to meet the boys on the field. You couldn't help the little flip your heart did when he said that.
"You boys ready to play some baseball?" He raises his voice with enthusiasm. The boys yell back matching his energy. As Steve gets the boys warmed up to practice, you turn to introduce yourself to the other mom's sitting nearby.
"Hi, I'm number four's mom. I've had some of your boys in my english class, they are great kids." You say sweetly, but none of the women turn to look at you. They were all too busy making comments about how good Steve ass looks in those khakis. You try again, clearing your throat to get their attention.
They finally turn to look at you, but its looks of annoyance. "Hi, I just wanted to introduce myself." You continue, giving them your name. The blonde in the middle flashes you a fake smile, "Amelia". She shakes your hand as the rest of the women share their names. Then they immediately go back to gossiping. Some of them you recognized from when you were in school. The fact that they didn't even remember you shows how self absorbed they've always been. You wondered if you had been transported back to high school with the way these women were acting.
You decided to pull out your book from your bag and read a few lines here and there, while occasionally sparing glances at the boys practicing. You watch Steve teach the boys proper form to have when swinging. He was just doing his job, but you couldn't help admiring how good he is with the children. He lets each the boys practice their swing, and you eye Cameron specifically. He had a little trouble with his form at first but after Steve corrected him, his confidence improved. You felt a surge of pride for your son.
"Good job, Cameron!" You yell from your seat. Cameron looks up to see you waving to him and he waves back with a smile on his face.
Eventually practice comes to a close and you head down to the edge of the field to wait for your son. He says something to Steve and then the both of them walk over to you. Steve gives you a smile before speaking. "He did great today, little champion in the making." He says ruffling Camerons hair lightly.
"Mom, can you take a photo of me and my friends with coach Steve?" Cameron asks.
"Of course!" You reply as Cameron waves his friends over. Going into your bag to grab your camera, you step back for a better angle and snap the group photo.
"All set?" Steve asks, he looks like he wants to say more but he doesn't. You give him a nod, putting away your camera. "Alright!, I'll see you guys for tomorrow's practice then, okay?" He says to the boys as waves them goodbye. You imagine he's probably off to grade some papers now, but your silently wishing that you had more time to talk to him. Although you and Steve started working together this year, there was only ever the occasional small talk since you always an audience.
Not wanting to dwell on it, you put your feelings aside and turn your attention onto your son. "You did so good out there today, I'm so proud of you." He smiles and chats on about his swing and if you saw the ball he hit as you both walk to the car.
The rest of the week had gone by in a blur. Throughout the week you wanted to speak to Steve more but it never felt like appropriate timing, the both of you having to focus on your students. Luckily Robin had planned a get together at her place this weekend. On the phone, she called it "A night to break away from the mundane.". You had rolled your eyes at the time but you missed her and you've been busy lately. She had also mentioned inviting a few others. The others being Nancy, Jonathan, and most exciting of all, Steve. Maybe this could be your opportunity to put yourself out there more with him. It had also been while since you had seen Jonathan or Nancy.
You knew Jonathan better than you did Nancy, the two of you had taken photography together. You had become fast friends until his brother, Will, had went missing, and he became distant. You had tried to help and get involved only to be pushed away more. Turns out, there was way more to that situation than you had intially thought at the time so it was probably for the best, but you wish you could have been there for him more.
Nancy was…Nancy. She was smart, pretty, and kind. There was a time where you wanted to be her friend but then she got with Steve. It would have been awkward trying to be friends with her if you liked her boyfriend, so you didn't try. Then eventually, her and Jonathan had gotten close after the disappearance of Barb. You were confused at first, but you figured that they could understand each other.
All that aside, you were just happy to have Robin. The both of you have been best friends since middle school, and she's the best thing that has happened to you besides Cameron. For awhile she even helped out with Cameron after you left his father. After being cheated on, raising a toddler and having to find a new place to stay, Robin was there to catch you when you fell. You could trust her with anything and everything.
So then came Friday night, and you had to trust her when she said tonight wouldn't awkward. Cameron was at his dad's for the weekend so you had time to put a little more effort into your appearance tonight. You had put on some light makeup, styled your hair a bit but still kept your clothes casual. You had arrived earlier than everyone else and started whining to Robin about how nervous you are. "These are your friends Robin, they barely know me. They probably don't remember me."
"You're being ridiculous! They like you! There's nothing to worry about." Robin says pulling out the drinks.
You were about to retort her claim until her doorbell rang.
"Can you get that? I'm getting the snacks ready." Robin yells from the kitchen. You huff and take a breath to steady yourself. You open it to see Steve standing there with a box of pizza in his hands. You take in his appearance starting with his hair. It's parted to the side with a few strands hanging in front. His hair looks good, it always does, you actually get to see it styled this time and not stuffed under a baseball cap. He was also dressed in a plain t-shirt and jeans that fit his body well. "Hi, you can come on in. Robin's in the kitchen getting the snacks set up." You say, stepping aside to let him in.
You think you haven't been caught staring until you are. Steve steps in, taking in his surroundings before turning around last second and taking notice of you. You try to think of something to say or whether to apologize but then he interrupts your thoughts, "You like nice, I never see your hair down, it's usually in a ponytail or bun."
"I could say the same for you, your hair is always under a hat" You reply, tilting your head as your lips curving upward. Steve mirrors your movements, "Exactly why I had to style it, can't look like i'm always on the job."
"Got someone to impress, Harrington?" Robin teases as she walks in from the kitchen.
"What…No. I just wanted an excuse to make it look nice for once and this was the perfect opportunity." He waves his hand around as he speaks and averts her gaze by setting the pizza box on the table.
"Sure dingus. Anyways, Nancy and Jonathan canceled. So it's gonna be just us three tonight." Robin explains with a small smile.
"What? I didn't hear the phone ring at all." You furrow your brows. You had been here with Robin for awhile and were talking to her almost the whole time. There couldn't have been a phone call.
"They left a voicemail on the answering machine." Robin replies back unphased. Right…a voicemail that you didn't hear play. You start to realize what Robin's doing, what she's planned this whole time. Robin has known about your crush on Steve since highschool, and although you haven't mentioned said crush coming back, she can tell.
"Can I hear this voicemail?" You ask, trying to catch her in a lie.
"Sorry, deleted it already. Had to make room."
"For who exactly?"
She hesitates, "My mom..."
"Your mom…?" You repeat back, hoping she realizes how ridiculous she sounds.
"Robin, your mom never calls." Steve chimes in, confused.
"Did you both come here to interrogate me or to eat pizza and drink?" She huffs dramatically, heading for the couch and grabbing a beer. Steve and you both know Robin well enough to not continue to press the issue so you both join her.
You three spend the beginning of the night catching up on each other's lives. Telling stories from your pasts. Laughing as you all think about memories from different times in your lives. Then the night turns into eating pizza and watching stupid movies. You all had a couple drinks in at this point so now everything was funny.
Steve laughed at this one ridiculous line in the movie and his laugh was so contagious that it had you and Robin doubled over in laughter too. As the giggles subsided, you started to think about how cute Steve's laugh was and how you wish you heard it more often. You tried not to think about how you felt about him. You were a little tipsy and you didn't want liquid courage to come along and steal the show.
After awhile, Robin dozed off and it was only you and Steve watching the movie. At some point your legs were touching and neither of you wanted to move. Steve had also rested his arm behind your head on the couch, you took notice but didn't say anything. Eventually, you become focused on the movie again until Steve speaks, "Did you want some water? I was gonna grab some."
"Yea, I'll come with you." You reply, getting up with him to go to the kitchen. Steve goes into Robin's cabinet and grabs two cups, one for both of you. You fill up yours and lean against the counter opposite of him as you sip on it. You watch as Steve fills up his and you study his side profile. His eye lashes were so long, you were almost jealous. Your eyes continued down his face, your gaze landing on his nose. God you loved his nose, what you would give to sit-
"You do that a lot you know." Steve remarks, as he turns to meet your gaze. He must have felt your stare. You mentally curse yourself for getting caught twice tonight. You could feel the embarrassment creeping up, but you feigned innocence instead. "Do what?"
"Stare. You think I don't notice but I do. I notice you."
Your cheeks warmed, "Steve, I hope I didn't make you uncomfortable…"
He grabs your empty hand and pulls you close, you bodies almost touching. "I didn't say I didn't like it."
This was the closest you had ever been to Steve and you weren't expecting him to react this way. It had you stunned and flustered. Steve rubbed small circles on the the back of your hand with his thumb as he continues, "I like you, I have for awhile and i'm really hoping you like me too or this is gonna be really awkward."
Letting out a laugh, you start to relax. "I like you too, Steve."
He brushes some hair out of your face, and his hand slides down to the crook of your neck. His gaze begins to moves to your lips and he parts his as if he wants to ask a question. When you lean into his touch, that gives him the confidence to finally spit the words out, "can I kiss you?"
All you could do is wonder about how his lips would feel against yours, so you nod. "Yes."
That's all Steve needs before he's leaning down to press his lips against yours. The only thought in your head right now was how soft his lips feel. You imagined a kiss with him would just be a soft peck and then it would be over but neither of you wanted to pull away. His hands moved to pull you closer, deeper into the kiss and you let him. Parting your lips for him, his tongue sweeps against yours. Your hands tug up at his tucked shirt and make their way under so you can feel his skin. You run your hands down his stomach and feel the soft hair from his happy trail. Steve groans into the kiss as he feels your soft carresses.
"You have no idea how long I've wanted this, wanted you" Steve says in a husky whisper, moving to press opened mouth kisses to your neck. He nipped and sucked at the skin there, drawing out a moan from you. Hearing your moans only spurred him on and he spun you around to cage you against the counter. He lifts one of your legs as he slots himself closer, you could feel his growing erection pressing against your aching cunt. Heat pools in your stomach and your hips move on their own as you begin grinding against him. Steve lips return to your's with a hungry fervor, one hand gripping your thigh while the other grasps a hand full of your ass.
"EW, EW, EW" The both of you quickly pull apart and turn to see Robin standing in the entrance of the kitchen. "Seriously? In my kitchen?! When I planned to set the two of you up, I didn't expect for you guys to do…" She gestures to you both, looking for a word but comes up short, "THAT, in my home."
"Robin, I am so sorry!" You exclaim, covering your face in embarrassment, feeling a hell of a lot more sober now.
"We just got caught up in the heat of the moment, Robs..." Steve tries to explain but stops when Robin sends him a glare.
"I'm going to have to sanitize everything! Who knows what you guys were up to while I slept! I mean I fell asleep for…what? ten minutes?" Robin mutters as she leaves the kitchen to grab her cleaning supplies. You stand there still in shock before your legs start moving and you follow after her, with Steve following close behind. "Robin, let me do it. I'll clean the whole kitchen, top to bottom. Just please don't hate me." You beg.
She grabs the bucket full of cleaning supplies and turns to face you. "I don't hate you, but next time take your fornication somewhere else please." Her tone had a hint of humor in it but you also knew she was serious. She continues on, "I can clean up but you two should go home, It's late and I'm tired. I'll see you at Cameron's baseball game tomorrow."
Grateful for her understanding but still so embarrassed, you nod quickly and grab your things. Heading for the door, you slip on your shoes, trying to ignore Steve's gaze. "Let me take you home." He suggests. Your heart clenches as you see the look on his face, his expression full of guilt and frustration. Part of you wanted to say yes, to have more time with him, but you were also upset with yourself for letting things get this far. "That's okay, I drove here myself." You reasoned, making a show of your car keys and opening the door to leave.
Steve stands there, running a hand through his tousled hair as he watches you go before he also grabs his things to leave.
Saturday Afternoon.
To say you are overwhelmed feels like an understatement. The memory of making out with Steve has been all you've been able to think about. You had tried to busy yourself with laundry and doing dishes, but the feel of him pressed up against you wouldn't go away. Having to see him tonight at the game was going to be confusing. Yes, things had gotten steamy last night, but that didn't mean you two were together now. He is your son's coach and teacher, it's just not appropriate.
Before you could think more about it, your door bells rings. Cameron was supposed to be dropped off from his dads any minute now. You slip off your dish washing gloves and head for the door. When you open it, your greeted with an unexpected face.
"Steve?"
One hand of his was holding a bouquet of flowers, while the other was in his jacket pocket. His hair was styled the way it was last night and you felt the urge to run your fingers through it. "Can we talk?" He asks. He almost looks and sounds like he's trying to choose his words carefully, hoping he doesn't scare you off. You step aside and let him in, shutting the door behind him.
"These are for you." He states, handing the bouquet to you. "We didn't get a chance to talk last night after what happened, and I have a feeling that with the way we left things you are just going to say it was a mistake or-"
"Steve-" You try to interject but he cuts you off. "Just let me finish. I really like you and I know you like me too. Don't try and blame the drinks we had or getting caught up in the moment. I've seen the way you look at me and I look at you the same way. I rant to Robin all the time about how I just want a chance with you but I want to handle this carefully. You have Cameron and so I've been trying to consider how he would feel about all this too. I should have approached last night differently, shouldn't have been so greedy, but you just looked so pretty and I couldn't stop thinking about how I wanted to kiss you. I just hope I didn't ruin my chance." He finally finishes, shoving his hands in his pockets as he waits for you to respond.
His rambling was so sweet and cute. You just wanted to calm his worries but he was wasn't far off from the truth. You were about to tell him how you really felt until the door bell rang again. "One second." You tell steve, putting down the flowers and reopening the door. It was Cameron and his father, Reece.
Reece was usually one to stay in the car when picking up or dropping off Cameron, rarely ever did he come up to the door. So why did he this time? "Reece, what are you doing here? You usually sit in the car."
"You think I was gonna miss our sons first baseball game?" He laughs in disbelief. "I figured I'd drop him off, hang out here until the game and then we could get dinner as a family after to celebrate.". You didn't know whether to laugh at his suggestion or be upset. A call or even a heads up would have been nice rather than him assuming he can just do whatever he wants. Cameron steps inside and sees his coach behind the door. "Mom, why is coach Steve here?"
"Hey buddy." Steve greets him and give his shoulder a squeeze. You sigh and close your eyes, bracing for Reece's snide comment. "Oh, so you're sleeping with our son's coach now? Real classy." He whispers before sliding his way inside to see who Cameron's talking to. Reluctantly closing the door, you introduce Steve and Reece.
Reece holds out his hand to shake Steve's but Steve doesn't take it. "That comment wasn't cool man."
"He's your prince charming now too, huh?" Reece remarks, sizing up Steve. "Dude, do you have a problem?" Steve snaps back. You quickly dismiss Cameron to his room before things get to out of hand. Once his door closed, you turn to Reece. "You always do this Reece, without fail. You try and win your family back and then when you realize you can't, you lash out. You can come to the game, I'm not gonna stop you but leave me alone. I'm not yours and I haven't been for a very long time." You open the door for him. "Go find something else to do for the next two hours cause you're not hanging out here."
Reece huffs and rolls his eyes. "You're wasting your time." He says to Steve before leaving. You shut the door once again and turn around to face Steve. "I'm sorry about him, he can be a total ass."
Steve's brows furrow and he places a hand on your shoulder, "Hey, what do you have to apologize for? You shouldn't have to deal with him, you deserve better than that." You try and regain your footing cause it feels like you've been thrown off balance. You were planning on telling Steve how you felt before but now you don't even know where to start. Reece's words play in your head "You're wasting your time". Fuck him for constantly trying to ruin things for you. Steve's speech comes to the forefront again when you feel the soft circles he's rubbing on your shoulder. He was the complete opposite of Reece, he was considerate, charming, caring, and he makes you feel listened to.
Reece was like the summer humidity, it creeps up on you when you least expect it, its beyond annoying and it's always there to ruin a good thing. While Steve was a spring breeze, refreshing, calming, you could just sit and bask in it. Makes you think of new beginnings and all the possibilites, and once it's gone, you miss it.
"You didn't miss your chance, I don't think you could. I won't lie and say I'm not nervous, I am. I went through a lot with Reece and it's left me with some trust issues, but I don't want that to stop me from exploring whatever this is with you. We would obviously have to mindful of Cameron, I don't know how he will take it. As for work, we keep things professional. I won't risk my job or Cameron being bullied for our actions. Lastly, now you've already met Reece but that was only the tip of the iceberg. He has a way of getting into your head if you let him, so don't believe a word out of his mouth. He may try and convince you that I'm this evil person, he's tried before with others. I know this is a lot but I hope you can understand." You state firmly.
The last thing you wanted was for him to hear your words and deem you too much, but you had to be honest. You'd rather him have an idea of what he's getting into with you than have him find out later.
Steve slides the hand that was rubbing your shoulder down to intertwine with your fingers. "I do understand, and none of that is going to scare me away. I wanna meet you where you are." He pauses, brushing your hair behind your ear. "Does this mean I can take you on a date now?"
Giving his hand a squeeze, you smile and nod, "yes, you can take me on a date. I'm free on the weekends, that when Cameron is at his dads."
Steve nods, "I'll take what I can get, but what about tonight? Enzo's? I can't get that kiss from last night out of my head and I think I'll lose my mind if I have to wait." He says in a dramatic tone. It feels like little butterflies are fluttering around your stomach and you can't help but smile. "Okay. Tonight, Enzo's."
"Perfect. I gotta get ready for the game, but I'll see you there, beautiful." He kisses your cheek and leaves.
Later at the game, you were sat with Robin on the bleachers, catching her up on everything she missed. Reece was about to be late and you wondered if he was even going to show up. The boys were all heading onto the field to get in position, at the last second you feel someone sit next to you. You look to see that it's Reece, and he faintly smells of alcohol. "Have you been drinking?" You ask him, your face scrunched up in annoyance. He huffs, his gaze moving from you to the field, "I only had two."
You turn your head to where Robin is sat, hoping she heard the conversation. She rolls her eyes, and mutters under her breath "Dipshit." You laugh and return your attention to the game, the boys were now in position. A man yells "Play" and the game officially starts. You could see where Cameron was standing, and he would be up to bat soon, you were so excited.
"What does he have that I don't?" Reece asks randomly, clearly not even focused on the game. You look at him, you expression dumbfounded. "Are you seriously doing this right now? At our son's first baseball game? How do you know that Steve wasn't over to talk about Cameron?"
He shakes his head, rubbing his palm down his face. "At first, I admit I was being an ass, but then when I came in and saw the flowers…I knew. So tell me, what he has that I don't?"
You let out a laugh at his audacity and turn back to the game, "Nope. I'm not doing this with you. Tonight is about our son, and you're not gonna ruin it with your macho man, insecurity bullshit."
Reece rolls his eyes but he doesn't bother you again and you're finally able to pay attention to the game. Eventually, It was Cameron's turn to bat and you sat at the edge of your seat. You fought the urge to yell words of encouragement. The pitcher throws the ball and Cameron hits it with a loud Smack. You stand up, bouncing on your tipy toes as you cheer for him, "Run Cameron, Run!". He runs as fast as he can to first base but seeing that has more time before the offense grabs the ball, he continues to run to second base. He makes it just in time and stays there.
The next boy gets ready to bat and you take your seat again. You could see Steve on the sidelines watching, hands on his hips as he yells out something to the boys. He looked so sexy when he was in his element like this.
The rest of the game goes off without a hitch and the Cubs end up winning. You could see the boys jumping up and down and cheering. Steve had gathered them all in a group huddle as they jump up and down, celebrating. The crowd joins in too as they cheer for the boys. You eventually make your way down with Robin and Reece and you go to find Cameron. He runs up to you and wraps his arms around you. "Mom, did you see me? I hit the ball super far! My team won too!" He says excitedly.
"Yes! Aunty Robin and your dad saw too. We were all cheering for you, we are so proud." You reply, pressing a kiss to his head. Cameron then moves to hug Robin, his dad and then starts ranting about baseball as he walks with Reece.
Steve see's both you and Robin and comes over to say hi. "Dingus…good game." Robin greets him back, still not fond of him after the kitchen incident. "You guys won the game! You should be proud." You smile up at him.
"I am very proud, these boy's have been working hard and it paid off. I'm excited to help them win the next one." He returns your smile. You wanted to move closer to him, hold his hand, a brush of the fingers, anything at this point. You reminded yourself of your surroundings and your date tonight, and that was enough to keep you in place.
"I'm gonna go drop off Cameron but I'll see you at eight?" You ask, biting the inside of your lip. You were both nervous and excited for you date with Steve. "See you at eight." He replies, nodding his head and shining his pearly whites.
You and Robin hug and say your goodbyes before you walk over to Cameron and Reece standing by his car. "Okay, I'm dropping you and Cameron off myself since you can't. You can pick up your car tomorrow." You tell Reece firmly. You can tell he wants to protest, that he wants to say he is fine to drive but you send him a glare. You had told him earlier not to ruin this night for Cameron and he knows you are right, so he keeps his mouth shut and gets in your car.
You drive them both to Reece's house, hug Cameron goodbye, and head home to get ready for your date. Spending the next hour getting ready, you finish doing your makeup right as the crunch of gravel outside hits your ears. You quickly grab your bag and slip on your shoes. Steve was about to ring your doorbell when you swung open the door.
"Hi." You smile, almost laughing at how eager you probably look.
"Hi, you look beautiful. I hope it's not weird I got you another set of flowers" He smiles, handing them to you. You take them, your smile widening, "it's not weird, I love them. Thank you, Steve." You put the flowers away and head back outside to see Steve holding out his hand for you to take. Taking his hand, you both head to the car and he opens up your door for you.
He rounds the front of his vehicle and gets in, holding your hand the whole way to Enzo's.
You both arrive at the restaurant, order your food and the conversation starts to flows with ease. You had felt butterflies when you were with Steve, it had been so long since you had felt them at all, they almost felt foreign. Even though you were nervous, it was easy to fall into a sense of ease with him. You didn't feel like you had to perform or be someone your not. With him it felt like talking to a friend you hadn't seen in ages, like falling back into a rhythm you once had. Throughout the date, he had made you laugh so hard you snorted. You felt embarrassed but he thought it was so cute he tried to make it happen again.
Later, having had some good food, sipping on some wine, and laughing with Steve, you were feeling good. The date was coming to a close and it was time go. On the ride home, you reflected on the night and the feeling of content you had in your heart. When you finally arrive at home, a quiet feeling of melancholy washes over you. You didn't want the night to end.
Steve walks you up to your door and you turn to look up at him, "I had a great time tonight, Steve." You place your arms around his neck as Steve places his hands on your waist, "I did too, beautiful."
He looked so pretty under the lamplight on your porch. The smell of his cologne overwhelms your senses as he leans in to kiss you. Your lips move in tandem with his, and you wrap your arms tighter around him, needing him as close as possible.
"Stay." You whisper between kisses. He hums in response against your lips and without breaking the kiss, you twist the door knob and pull him inside the house with you.
Your lips part and he licks into your mouth, shutting the door behind you and pressing you up against it. Your tongues flick against eachother as Steve grinds against you once, teasing. "Steve!" You whine "Please", your hips move to meet him eagerly. "You're even prettier when you're begging for me." He grunts into your neck, sucking greedily as he creates marks. He palms your breast through your dress, brushing his fingers over your stiff peaks. He squeezes and pinches before his hand continues traveling down your body. He lifts up your dress and brushes a finger against the damp spot on your panties,"I got you all worked up, huh?". He applies firm pressure as he cirles his finger on your clothed clit. You moan but he swallows it with a desperate kiss.
Gripping onto his bicep for support, you whimper as continues rubbing you. The pressure is perfect until he stops abruptly. You want to whine in protest but he's dropping to his knees in front of you. Steve Harrington on he's knees for you wasn't something you thought you needed until now. He lifts your leg onto his shoulder and he presses a soft kiss over your clothed cunt. He takes his time with it before moving to the inside of your thigh. He nuzzles his face against it while looking at you with adoration. Your fingers brush the hair out of his face as he goes to lick a stripe up your slit. You hum at the contact, gripping his hair to pull him closer.
"Someone's eager" He teases, moving you so he can slide your panties down, resume your position and spread you open with his digits. He spreads your slick around, "You're dripping, baby."
Not being able to wait any longer, Steve buries his face into your pussy, lapping greedily. A whimper escapes you and your head falls back against the door. He thrusts his tongue into your hole and your clench around it. He adds a finger, curving it inside of you as he moves to suck on your clit.
"Oh god" You moan out, you could feel pressure coiling in your stomach. It was getting harder to stand up straight and Steve could tell. He goes back to playing with your breasts, pulling your dress down until they spill out, all while feasting on your pussy. You arch into his mouth, grinding on his face.
"Yeah, ride my face, baby." He encourages, his face covered in your slick. He sinks his tongue deeper, his nose repeatedly bumping against your clit. He adds a second finger to work along with his tongue, moving fast. Loud squelching sounds are heard as you continue to drip for him. Steve could feel how close you were, the way you clench around his fingers made his dick twitch. "Cum on my tongue, baby. Can you do that for me?" He coaxes, going back to lick into you. The tight coil in your stomach snaps and you cry out a "Yes!" as you flood his tongue with your arousal.
Steve continues lapping up the mess you made as the waves of pleasure run through you. The sensitivity only prolongues the orgasm and you twitch with his tongue still inside. Steve grins and presses a kiss to your clit before standing up to his full height and kissing you passionately. His hand moves to your throat, not squeezing, just angling your face up to his. You could taste yourself on him as his tongue seeks yours.
You pull back, tugging at his belt, "I need you, Steve." He could feel his erection pulse at your words. He wanted to be inside you just as bad as you wanted it. You grab his hand and show him to your room down the hall. He couldn't help but kiss you the whole way there. You back yourself into your room, lips still moving against his, until the back of your knees hit the bed and you fall back. He watches you squirm under his gaze as he takes off his belt and his bottoms. His dick springs free, slapping against his abdomen, leaking pre-cum from the tip. Your eyes carry a lustful gaze as you stare at his reddened head. You didn't really have any crazy expections when it came to Steve's size. You just figured he would be normal, average, but Steve was big. You wondered if you would be able to take him fully. All you could think about was how good he would stretch you out once inside.
He crawls over you, positioned between your legs, "Let's get this off you, I wanna see you completely." He has you sit up so he can take off your dress, when you lay back down, his gaze roams over you hungrily. "You're so beautiful, I can't believe I finally get to have you like this." He says before kissing you. He strokes himself as the two of you makeout, he occasionally slaps his dick against your folds.
He rubs the tip against you, spreading your combined slick. By the third time he rubs it, his tip catches against your entrance and you let out a gasp, "Please!" Steve wanted to continue to take his time, to worship you. You had no idea how long his waited for this moment. "Just a little longer, baby. I want this moment, this image of you ingrained in my brain." He smiles, moving down your body to take a nipple into his mouth. You arch into his mouth as he swirls his tongue around your peak. He lavishes your breasts in attention until your writhing beneath him.
He finally decides to give you the relief you're so desperately aching for. He slides only the head in before checking to see how your doing. Steve already having you wet and ready, the stretch wasn't too painful, but you definitely had to adjust. "You doing okay, pretty girl?" He asks sweetly. You take a second to breath before nodding, "You can move."
Steve pushes in another few inches before pausing and letting you adjust. He plays with your clit while kissing you. making sure you are feeling good at all times. You could feel pleasure starting to build in your stomach again. "Steve, I need you all the way, I can't wait anymore." You whine against his lips.
"You sure? I don't want to hurt you." He says, a concern expression taking over his face. You nod eagerly, "Please." Wanting to give into your begging, he surges forward in one thrust until he bottoms out. You both groan at the feeling, the stretch having you claw at his back. Steve kisses you through it, giving you a moment of reprieve, nipping and sucking at your bottom lip.
After a minute or two of kissing, he asks if you're ready for him to start moving. After giving him the okay and he starts with slow sensual thrusts in and out. Everytime he slides against your walls, you clench around him. He curses as he feels you sucking him in, "Fuck baby, you're taking me so well."
"Faster, Steve" You cry out, wiggling your hips for more friction. Steve listens immediately, picking up his pace. He was so deep you breaths were coming in uneven spurts. He hits your g-spot repeatedly and you can feel your orgasm approaching rapidly.
"Steve, I'm gonna cum." You gasp.
"Come for me, beautiful. Let me feel that pretty pussy soak my dick." He interwines his fingers with yours, his thrusts moving in a frenzy. As he moves in and out, you watch as a white ring forms at the base of his dick, coating his coarse hair. The pressure in your abdomen was at its peak and squeeze Steve's hands for support. He hits your button with another thrust and that sends you over the edge. You scream out "Steve! Oh my god." As you writhe in pleasure, another orgasm overwhelming you.
He kisses and nips at your neck, fucking you through it. When he feels himself about to cum, he pulls out and strokes himself quickly until he's blowing his load on your stomach. He heaves over you as his pleasure subsides. "Let me get you cleaned up." He says pressing a kiss to your lips before heading to find a wash cloth.
When he comes back, he's cleaning your stomach and between your legs attentively. "You're perfect." He says, smiles down at you. You return his smile and when he finishes with the rag you pull him down to cuddle. He laughs at your enthusiasm and lays you onto his chest. "Will you stay the night?" You ask quietly, drawing circles on his stomach. "Of course, if that's what you want." He replies, rubbing your arm.
You nod against his chest, "Yes, I do. Is that what you want?"
"Yes, that's what I want, beautiful."
He kisses the top of your head and with the both of you growing tired from the day, you decide to drift off in each others arms.

Joyce was hosting a new years party. After finally getting rid of Vecna and everything that had come with him, Joyce wanted everyone to have a fresh start, something to look forward to. You and Steve had been the last to arrive, both of you spending way too much time on your hair. Walking in together, hand in hand, you see everyone mingling. Jane and Maxine sitting in front of the TV watching MTV's New Years Special. The cure was playing softly on the Byer's radio in background while Robin danced with Vickie, twirling her around. The boys were all were discussing their most recent D&D campaign. Jonathan and Nancy were discussing something quietly on the couch. While Joyce was setting out the food for everyone while Hopper steals a cookie or two behind her back.
Standing there taking in everything, you feel Steve squeeze your hand. "You alright?"
You turn to look at him, nodding with a reassuring smile. "It's just been awhile since we've had a genuine moment to breathe, to enjoy life without a looming threat." You pause. "I'm just really grateful to be here with everyone…with you."
Steve's eyes soften as he takes in your words and pulls you closer. He lets go of your hand to cup your face gently before pressing a soft kiss to your lips. "I'm grateful to be here with you too, baby. I wouldn't wanna be anywhere else."
You smile and rest your head on his chest as he embraces you. It doesn't last long before Robin spots you both, her two best friends, at the entrance. She says something to Vickie and quickly makes her way over to you guys. "What are you both just standing here for? You're late, come join the party already!"
She grabs your hand and pulls you further into Joyce's home, Steve follows close behind holding your other hand. Max and Jane finally taking their eye's off the TV, rush after Robin to greet you. The boys also taking notice, come over to steal Steve. The both of you being pulled in opposite directions.
"Are you staying for the sleepover?" Max immediately pipes up. Your brows furrow in confusion, and you laugh softly "I was unaware there was one, does Joyce even have enough space for everyone?"
"We can make room, and she has a guest room now!" Jane chimes in. It had been a long day, you had been working a lot recently and truthfully you wanted to go home a spend the night with your boyfriend, but how could you say no to these two? You look to Vickie and Robin and the look they gave you was anything but helpful. In fact, their looks were encouraging you to say yes.
You let out a sigh, but there was a smile on your face. "Okay..Okay, let me just go tell Steve."
The teen girls immediately turn to eachother, smiling, and already planning out tonight's activites.
You head over to where Steve and the boys are. They had moved on from talking about D&D and now were talking about a recent movie they saw. You pull him to the side, softening your voice. "How would you feel if I told you I was spending the night here?"
Steve's posture slumps slightly, head tilting to the side, dissappointment evident on his face. "Baby, come on. I fell like I've been seeing you less and less lately. We had plans…" He emphazies the last word quietly, widening his eyes to drive home his point.
"Steve, you see me more than anyone else. I know we had plans and I fully intend to still go through with them…Just not tonight."
He now had a visible pout on his face and you had to fight to hide your smile. "Tell you what, you join me for this sleepover and I'll make it up to you."
His posture begins to straighten and his lips curve into a small smile, "yea?"
You lean up to give him a quick kiss and murmer a reply against his lips. "Yes."
Before you pull away, Steve pulls you closer by the waist, choosing to deepen the kiss. His tongue swipes across your lower lip, asking for entrance and you part your lips for him. What started out as a sweet kiss, turned into a heated makeout in the corner of the room. You both get so lost in eachother that you almost don't hear Joyce's voice, that is, until Robin calls you out.
You and Steve reluctantly pull apart from eachother to see everyone facing Joyce. She had a spoon and glass of wine in her hand. Tapping the spoon against the glass to get everyones attention, then she goes on to finally speak.
"It's almost midnight but I want to say a few words before the year ends." She pauses, finding her words. Her eyes grow glassy as she gets lost in thought. Hopper rubs her back gently, everyone patiently waiting for her to continue. Her voice cracks as she begins to speak again. "We have been through so much together, year after year. Some days it felt like it was never going to end, like we would always be living in fear, and now…now we are free. This was the year that we put everything to bed. We can finally live our lives the way we were meant to."
Joyce pauses again to collect herself, wiping her stray tears.
"I guess I just wanna say that I am so incredibly proud of each and every one of you, and you should be proud of yourselves. I'm so excited to see where life takes you all, where this next year will lead. This is a new chapter for us all and I love you all so much.".
A few stray tears had left your eyes, along with the rest of the groups. You all truly had been through so much together and it was almost surreal to say it was finally over. You walk over to Joyce to give her a big hug, and soon after, so did everyone else. No one knows what the future holds but this moment right here is what matters.
As quiet settled among the group, you could hear the countdown to midnight commence on the TV. The group huddle disperced as you all watch the countdown together.
Steve's hand finds yours and you lean on his shoulder.
The group starts counting down together, soft smiles on everyone's faces.
"Five"
"Four"
"Three"
"Two"
"One"
"HAPPY NEW YEAR!"
You turn to Steve and get yet another passionate kiss from him. One that wouldn't be interrupted this time. He takes his time, his hands wondering and squeezing. You laugh against the kiss and force yourself to pull away, your hand resting on his chest. "Behave, Steven!"
Hopper clasps his hands and yells over the group, "Who's up for some fireworks?"
Everyone throws on their winter attire and heads outside into the cold air. The cool winter breeze hits your face and you snuggle up to Steve in hopes he will be your shield. He laughs and presses a kiss to the top of your head.
Hopper had already set out the fireworks and started to light them one by one. They shoot off and big bursts of light decorate the sky. You can hear the kids debating about which ones are cooler and you smile to yourself as you watch.
This. This is what you had spent many years dreaming of. After everything that the group had been through to get here, this was pure bliss. Not even the bite of the cold could ruin this moment. You get lost watching the fireworks and reflecting on the past year when you feel a snowball hit your back. You let go of steve to turn around, only to see Mike with a shit eating grin on his face.
"SNOWBALL FIGHT" He yells, and chaos ensues. Everyone starts packing snow into balls to throw at one another. You think that Steve is on your team and that he will protect you, but you are mistaken. The group splits off in two and he's on the opposite side.
"Steve!" You laugh in disbelief as he gets ready to launch a snow ball at your side.
"Sorry, baby!" He yells back before throwing it directly at you, but your side had something the other didn't.
Jane, stops the snowball using her abilites and whips it right back into steve's face. You and the others burst into laughter as steve wipes the snow off his face.
"Yea, yea, laugh it up!" He scoffs, his lips turning up into a reluctant smile.
The snowball fight resumes and laughter fills the air.
This year is gonna be a good year.
