The expression is to be feared.
found this series via your introduction post and I'm super jazzed about it! Something I noticed, it looks like in the image of frank with his head spinning around, there's text on the spines of the books that says something? I showed it to some friends and what they made out the first three as saying is "Hello/It's You Know Who?/I'm Your Neighbor". Also on wally's page it mentions his house is "the eighth neighbor" but on sally's page it mentions nine neighbors
ADDITIONAL COMMENT: My friend looked more at the books and made this comment: Fourth book down in the stack says "Do you (unable to read clearly, maybe "know" or "think") about me? You do." Fifth book is the hardest to read but I think it says "I've seen you."
OOOOHHH this is interesting - i’ve tried looking at those books over and over again to see if there was anything hidden in there, but i could never make it out past “it’s you know who?” i’ll figure out a way to add that to the doc.
as for the issue of the neighborhood head count - home* is both a house and a neighbor all at once, which i’m sure won’t lead to any existential and/or body horror at alllll (/s.) to me, what’s really odd about home being the eighth neighbor specifically is the possibility that wally’s house was introduced before wally himself - hinting at some kind of disconnect between the established lore of the show’s universe and what actually went down, maybe? i also could have sworn there was something about there being ten neighbors in total thanks to the viewer also counting as a neighbor, but i can’t find any mention of the number 10 specifically on the site, so take that with a grain of salt.**
* the town/neighborhood itself is also named home according to the first overview page. implying the whole town is an extension of home the house, maybe?
** OH okay i know where i got this from: sally’s page mentions 9 visible neighbors, implying the existence of an invisible neighbor, and this combined with the fact that the overview page states that the viewer is treated as an additional neighbor, well... though again, i have no way of knowing if that’s actually the case, given that we don’t have a lot to work with right now.
Another year’s gone and past. And here we are another year older. I’ve begun to realize how much I treasure @kaible as one of my #1 supporters of my art. You’ve never judged me whenever I decide to go into one of my experimental phases of my art that isn’t drawing for a fandom.
You’ve always left nice comments for me and are always willing to hear me out no matter how weird my ramblings are. So since I’m in my danmei/Xianxia phase, I’d thought I’d draw you as a Xianxia character too
Happy Birthday Kaible, and thank you for years of cheering me on from the sidelines.
@kaible i’m not actually sure, embarrassingly enough, i queued it on my incorrect cave story quotes blog a while ago and it just says ‘source unknown’
if no one's asked yet, could you post the assets for the photos in Triffany's photo album? I ADORE the picture of baby Triffy with her Gramma and I'd love to see it and the other photos at their full size
HOLY SHIT I FORGOT ALL ABOUT THAT PICTURE ill get that for you oh my god thank you so many kisses
kaible replied to your photoset “Reminder that Rat Man is thicc”
I'm legit mad I don't know enough about Kitaro canon to make a good "I'm dummy thicc and the clap of my asscheeks keeps alerting X" joke about this
“I’m dummy thicc and the clap of my asscheeks keeps alerting Kitaro I’m about to betray him again”

kaible replied to your post “ill be honest its uh its kinda offensive to make headcanons about...”
the theory isn't because loboto is mentally ill, it's because of similarities in their designs (body shape, skin color, boatlight eyes), the fact that bobby's tastes in media, as recorded on campster, have a recurring theme of abusive/neglectful fathers/father figures, and in general because loboto does abusive and cruel things, which mental illness is not an excuse for. There are also multiple mentally ill people within the game who are treated sympathetically.
i think you may be mis understanding something
when i said “headcanon” i mean the headcanon that hes an abusive father bc of his mental illness, NOT the theory he could be bobby’s dad- i know what other similarities ppl have brought up for the theory of them being related like appearance- thats not something im arguing against
one problem i do see is people taking bobby’s canon interest in things and automatically slapping that against a theory. mental illness isnt an excuse for bad behavior but the point im making here is people are taking Loboto and giving out this headcanon when its solely based around him being mentally ill there is no hard canon proof of him being any sort of abusive adult figure to a child- people are simply taking the fact hes stereotypically insane and using that as a good reason to think he could be an abusive father. its hurtful and simply feeds the idea that hes potentially abusive because he is mentally ill, or that someone who is stereotypically insane will be violent and abusive. Loboto has been a cliche villain to an extent but with the developments of RoR i think it should be obvious we learned a lot about his disorder and should pull away from the stereotype he was written into in PN1- because it wasnt good, but it was an old game with old writing that wasnt perfect
