25. How does Rook like to spend their free time?
Visiting with friends mostly. She's a creature of momentum - if she sits still too long the Horrors sink in, and she doesn't have time for that! Otherwise, she's a fiddly kind of person. She enjoys cleaning abandoned treasure or slotting together broken relics. She hangs out with Bellara a lot.
31. What specialization does Rook pursue? What called them to it?
Spellblade! Honestly she was drawn to it because knives are much easier to conceal on one's person than a staff, but it became so natural to her as an adventurer that she is sometimes surprised that other mages DON'T use daggers.

40. Describe Rook’s bed:
A large and hard mattress absolutely overflowing with blankets and pillows. She tends to turn into a tight ball in a little nest... and having all those fabrics makes it easy to hide the much-loved and stitched-back-together halla plush she kept from childhood.
48. A color, flower, animal, and weather to describe Rook:

3. What was Rook’s life before their faction?
Rook grew up in Rivain, in a relatively well-off Elven Alienage. She was rambunctious, always breaking things or finding the tallest structure to jump off of, only to land in haybales. When her magic manifested, she took an apprenticeship from a local mage that had retired from the Circle. She studied fiercely, and found her stride focusing on Lightning magic.

7. Why does Rook agree to join the Veilguard?
Guilt, mostly at first. She thought she could be this big damn hero, stopping the Dread Wolf in his tracks, and made mistakes she's trying desperately to fix. Over time, she realized that she's built for leadership and surprisingly, pretty good at this Veilguard thing!
10. Does Rook know their history? Do they know of the HoF, Hawke, the Inquisitor?
EVERYONE has heard stories of the Hero of Ferelden. I mean come on, it had to be overexaggerated, right? No way one person did all of that. Isabela tells stories about Hawke constantly - he sounds like a big himbo and Rook's kinda into that tbh. The Inquisitor sounded more like a myth, but she might have to look into him a bit more now that she's working with Varric and leading a force of her own.
12. Does Rook have any family? Do they keep in touch?
She has some that remain in the Alienage, she writes off and on. They're one of the lucky clans that are mostly separated out of tradition, rather than apartheid or poverty. Every once in a while when she's nostalgic, she asks for her mother's spiced rum recipe.

16. Got any tattoos? What’s the story behind them?
Her vallaslin was a coming-of-age choice meant to respect and honor her Dalish ancestry, even though she grew up in an alienage. Ironically, her choice was to honor Ghilan'nain.
She also has a mandala on her right calf, a choice made in a drunk bet with the other Lords of Fortune. She loves it though.
17. How’d Rook get those scars?
Rook's magic leans towards the elemental - she has Lichtenberg scars over her chest, arms, and one leg that are mementos of early mistakes learning her craft.
The slice through her upper lip and left eyebrow were from a too-close call on the streets in Rivain

30. What is Rook’s class? Did they choose it?
Well she was born a mage, so pretty much! Spellblade seemed to be the best choice for her, as a Lord of Fortune it's hard to conceal a staff but a dagger? No problem.
37. Does Rook ascribe to a faith?
She wasn't part of a Dalish clan, but she grew up in the Alienage learning stories of the Elvhenan and the Dalish pantheon. She wanted to embrace some of that culture, so did end up getting a vallaslin at her coming of age, but considers herself pretty agnostic.
