they had been sitting on the couch, tv flickering in front of the both of them. it was playing some tv show, one jason had gotten kai into. she was happy, no. she was estatic about how much of a positive influence jason had been on kai.
she was happy to know how much kai looked up to him. he needed someone like that in his life.
her lips curled upwards as soon as she noticed how much his face lit up every time the screen flickered. babs couldn't help but lean over to press a few pecks to his hair, then his temple as her fingers flicked over her phone. checking to see if she had gotten anything from jason, gwen or brandon.
they were really the only people she kept in contact with, on a daily basis. well kate too, but she was busier than babs was. && that said a lot.

she blinked once before turning towards those big bright eyes of his. all babs could do was bring her arms around him, pulling him close to press kisses all over his face.

a waiting grin curls the corners of his lips, tugs amusement through his chest as papers are set aside, arms folded over his stomach. around the line of shoulders and crinkles at his eyes there is a soldier waiting for war; tucked into the wings so as to give peace a chance to settle within weary limbs.
blue-green fixes the budding hero with curiosity, dull in its lack of accusatory tone; faintly luminant instead in response to the innocence of proposed task.

provided, at least, that said meal was accompanied by her favored drink.
