me 3 years ago: look at this oc, his name is kai and he’s a fallen angel and he’s tiny and feminine and fragile and gay
me just ten minutes ago: LOOK at KAI, he’s 6′1″ and does hot yoga and loves men and loves makeup and when he forgets to shave in the morning he owns it with a highlight and some eyeliner
holding onto divinity like a bad headache

Kai is getting a design overhaul this year .. idk when but it will happen ...
if it’s not a spoiler why did kai fall?
🥺 the short answer is envy!
The long answer is.. angels in his story don’t have physical forms on earth, and have to appear to people as inspiration or ideas or dreams instead - intangible but extremely moving, eye opening and life changing! And there are angels for almost every action, role, emotion etc so there’s lots of overlap in domains and new angels are formed often to keep up with how humanity changes.
Kai’s domains are inherent goodness and healing! So he was very close with the humans he watched over and was drawn to broken hearts a lot. He saw a lot of love given to people in pain, and he saw how essential that love was to their healing, and how love seemed such an inherent human quality. Eventually he found himself wanting to share that, to know how humans felt when they expressed love for someone and had that reciprocated, and that pinged as envy and he fell almost immediately after that desire arose in him.
Basically it’s heaven hq going “oh you’re envious? Ok go get it” with 0 prep since angels r supposed to be kind of omniscient. Falling is rly disorienting and traumatic because they aren’t used to having a physical body. It’s a LOT.. big adjustment period. Kai has like angelic dysphoria LMAO he feels very fragile and wired sometimes, like he’s too big for his body. At least he’s still got wings!!!
