KaiSara is one of my favorite ships ❤️

I'm a sucker for devotion and doing everything to protect the one you love and that's what Kai seems to me

All that time watching over someone... Of course eventually you'll start getting really invested in their life. He's sad when Sara is sad, he worries about her when she's not taking care of herself, he really wants to show himself and reassure her personally sometimes

Since he can't, he'll leave little notes (and maybe gifts) to her every now and then. Sara thought it was someone from her school, a secret admirer, but when she started noticing she had a stalker, she worried these notes and gifts were from them. Kai had to stop sending them, he didn’t want to creep her out

(He still does sometimes, but he changes his handwriting and style of gifts)

He's very respectful and turns away when Miss Sara is caught in a compromising position

He's secretly chased away more than one creepy suitor stalking her

(it's been a while since I played the game so I forget what's canon) He's soo happy when Sara compliments his food, but when she's not happy he tries recipe after recipe to find one that suits her tastes while also giving her a balanced diet.

He feels guilty about his feelings for her but he's bowed to never burden her with them

that is until the canon divergence where sara falls for him too

yeah so kaisara invades my mind once a month even if my current focus right now is hunter x hunter (this could be a sign the hxh brainrot will soon end, to which thank god because I'm getting tired)(hisogon fic soon)

I always struggle when tagging kaisara works because I think they're neither romantic nor platonic at the same time. it's very ambiguous and it shifts all the time. I guess you can say they have a situationship going on. thank god for modern slang I guess

I really want them to kiss or have sex. but also not at the same time. like I don't want to write that. but do I think have to? yeah, and I have to try. I guess what I really want is for them to be physically intimate in a way that borders sexual activity but somehow write it in a way that doesn't focus on the idea of them having sex.

I just published my attempt at that on ao3, so check that out! though be warned because it's conventionally strange, like how anything I strive to create is.

further notes about the fic under the cut

kaisara period sex has been in my mind and drafts since forever ago. but they don't actually have sex in that fic. surprise, and I'm glad it turned out that way because writing sex is so boring ? whenever I write something erotic, I always set aside arousal as an afterthought.

in this fic's case, the main topic of concern is that kai really tries hard to care for sara, to the point that boundaries are almost disregarded and he gets intrusive. he wants to perform his role well, but his immense devotion clouds his judgement and he ends up like a fool, much to his shame. you can speculate kai's motives in the fic are also sexual in nature like sara did, calling him perverted, but it's overall left ambiguous. sara doesn't see him much as a threat (in this AU, where they live together) and she's truly still in control in one way or another despite being the younger of the two

other ideas for this fic premise included kai using the applicator to pleasure sara, or having him perform cunnilingus on her, but it didn't go that way. I did plan to have kai lick the blood off his fingers at the end but it didn't do much for the themes and it was too sexual.

all the time I say to myself "I have to write kaisara evil sex!!" but it always ends up only borderlining sexual territory, and I may even argue, it's sexless.

I have deeper kaisara character studies in my drafts, but what other intimate things should I make them do?
