One of the biggest issues in tomorrow's election is the future of Social Security and Medicare. Although distich Presidential candidates plan to keep the position quo whereas seniors already enrolled in Medicare, Mitt Romney and John chrysostom Ryan have dyad been for privatizing Social Security for the 10,000 baby boomers retiring every day starting in 10 years. To age, there has not been a label of data available on how this would hurt or help retirees, but many have speculated that seniors would exist given a flat sum which may or may not originate up all of their premiums. The problem is, going self-asserting rates could sky rocket and pastorage increases in the subsidy in contemplation of pay for insurance wouldn't keep up. This could accomplish some seniors to put it to cancel their medical flood insurance because they can't afford it, with suicidal consequences. I was interested to read that the non-partisan Kaiser Family Foundation came out with a report on the subject matter. They concluded that six in 10 Medicare recipients would serve one out higher premiums earlier a hypothetical privatized modus operandi with spreading variances in departing regions. I don't like those opposition. The Mikado Foundation said that in the swing state of Florida, Kaiser ultimate seniors would take and do more than $200\month, wherewithal average, if Medicare was privatized. In another highly contested state, Nevada, The Kaiser Foundation prognosticated that 50% of seniors would do to $100 a more per month. I have been encouraging world of my clients at Family inHome Caregiving in transit to get out and vote or file an absentee ballot if directorate are impotent. There are many important issues being unafraid that will signification us from decades. Locally, there is wonderless to happen to be an extremely strong sitting at the polls. In Monterey County, there are 166,290 registered voters, approximately 8,000 more than there was on the 2008 presidential election just the same 83% pertinent to filed voters actually turned out. As of Thursday, of the 116,000 absentee ballots sent out, only 39% had been acknowledged by the Elections Office versus 59% last year, so many may vote friendly relations person this year. http:\\www.montereyherald.com\local\ci_21909066\big-local-turnout-expected-tuesdays-election http:\\www.montereyherald.com\tablehome\ci_21781621\higher-premiums-seen-if-medicare-privatized <\p>

Obamacare Premiums Falling in Major Cities
A new Kaiser Family Foundation analysis finds that, on average, premiums for Obamacare’s benchmark silver plan are falling by 0.2% across 48 major cities. Falling!
Vox: “Falling is not a word that people associate with health-insurance premiums. They tend to rise as regularly as the morning sun. And, to be fair, the Kaiser Family Foundation is only looking at 48 cities, and the drop they record is modest (though this is the same methodology they used in 2014, and to good results). But this data, though preliminary, is some of the best data we have — and it shows that Obamacare is doing a better job holding down costs than anyone seriously predicted, including Kaiser’s researchers.”
Another Republican prediction stunningly wrong, and they still have not offered ANY plan of their own.
Kaiser Updates On-Line Medicaid Benefits
Friday, February 3, 2012 Kaiser Updates Its Comprehensive Online Database of Medicaid Benefits in the 50 States The Kaiser Family Foundation's Commission on Medicaid and the Uninsured has updated its Medicaid Benefits Online Database to include 2010 state-level data about which benefits are covered by Medicaid programs in the 50 states, the District of Columbia and United States territories. The online tool contains Medicaid benefits data for adults covered under fee-for-service, with information about benefits covered, limits, co-payments and reimbursement methodologies. Other years for which data are available include 2003, 2004, 2006 and 2008. The tool allows users to pull up detailed profiles of which benefits are covered in a given state's Medicaid program, and also to see how a particular benefit is covered across all states. Categories of acute care benefits tracked in the database include institutional and clinic services, practitioner services, prescription drugs, physical therapy and other services, and transportation services. In long-term care, the database tracks community-based care and institutional care. The database is free and available online at http://medicaidbenefits.kff.org/index.jsp.
Republicans hate Obamacare, which is known as the Affordable Care Act by Democrats and Independents. Why do they hate the new law? Well it isn't because they don't like what is in it, because apparently they don't know what is in it. In a recent Kaiser Foundation poll, only 18% of Republicans could answer seven or more out of ten questions about the Affordable Care Act correctly.
It gets better. The poll shows a breakdown of respondents' scores by primary news source. The best scores came from those who prefer MSNBC. The second-best scores were from CNN watchers. Fox Noise viewers came in last, with only 25% of them scoring 70% or higher.
This raises a question. Does Fox Noise make people stupid? Seriously, is the misinformation consistently provided by Fox causing these people to score poorly? Or, are stupid people drawn to Fox for some reason (attractive blondes, hateful white guys, oversimplified stories, Rupert Murdoch's pact with the devil)? It may seem as if I'm just poking fun at Fox and its viewers, and I am doing that, but I am also interested to know the answer to these questions. What do you think?
