Osamu Ichijouji.

The genius kid from Tamachi. The oldest of the Ichijouji twins, who often frequented the Inoue family’s convenience store.

The one who should have been dead.

And yet, there he was, dressed in flamboyant clothing, cackling and threatening her friend’s life. Miyako couldn’t deal with this. Why was she chosen to fight against her dead friend? She hated fighting, she never wanted to do it in the first place. In the end of the day, she turned out to be as useless as expected, coming back home carrying everyone’s disappointment on her back.

But there was someone she needed to call, someone who could make sense of all this mess: Ken Ichijouji, the youngest twin brother of Osamu. Ken who was always so kind and sweet whenever they went to I-Mart. Ken who was so cute. He surely would be able to help her if it was his brother who they were talking about.

Except that Ken turned out to be harder to reach than expected. She called him - Ken wasn’t available, leave your message after the beep. She e-mailed him - no response. She visited him - no one’s home. And Miyako did it again and again and again.

Until one day she decided to skip her computer club duties to wait at his school entrance. He had to leave school to go home at some point, she just had to wait. And wait she did. 

And then she found it, that familiar face, looking more handsome than ever.

Bingo.

As far as Valentine’s went, Kouichi had a rather... eventful one.

Izumi had called for an informal meeting with their friends so she could give them all chocolates, which was fun just to be able to see each other again. Even Kouji had been able to attend, for how anti-social he always is.

Later on, Takumi had kissed him - the boy Kouichi had met online (literally) in the Digital World; a different digidestined who helped save him. Kouichi had intended chocolates for them, and Takumi’s reaction was entirely too cute.

Then there were the ‘dates’ he’d been on with Takeru in the afternoon taking advantage of the couple’s discounts at restaurants. Kouichi had used whatever time he had to concoct a list of places so as to make the most of it.

By the end of the day, Kouichi couldn’t have asked or expected anything more from Valentine’s. He was ready to go home, hug and kiss his mother and get some well deserved rest.

He just hadn’t expected to see Ichijouji Ken chatting up his mom in the most pristine visage that the Kaiser was so good at. On her part, his mother was soaking up every word and smiling at the way Ken talked about him.

It was the happiest Kouichi had seen his mother in months.

The warrior’s heart fluttered and his face heated up having Ken sat all formally like family at the table. Then with the utmost charisma Ken whisked Kouichi off his feet into the Digital World away from the rest of society.

Kouichi’s night was thus spent less sleeping and more reeling at the sight of the Digital World that Ken had programmed just for him, so that they could get away from everything. Kouichi promptly forgot about the human world and whatever had happened there in order to soak up the time he spent with Ken instead.

It was the most romantic Valentine’s Kouichi couldn’t have even imagined.
