Call out to folks in the Star Wars fandom who are possibly more familiar with Mado’a than myself!

I’ve run into an issue with the fact that buir = both mother and father.

I’m writing a fic and in the epilogue there’s a kid. With two parents.

In Mando’a, what types of diminutives might there be for a kid to distinguish? Whether they have two dads, three dads, and dad and a mom… or in this case a mom and two dads?

Obi-Wan is going to be dad. But Cody is learning to embrace his culture, so I want their kid to call him buir… but Satine is also part of this family unit. And would be the child’s buir as WELL.

I don’t want to call Cody stepfather. This is very much a triad situation in the parenting. I thought about ashi’buir for “other father” but. I dunno.

There has to a diminutive, right? Do Mandalorian families really call both/all parents buir?

Dear First Kill fandom (most importantly, fanfic authors):

I am begging you to please consider putting a Blanket Permission statement on your AO3 bio, somewhere. Or tagging fics with Blanket Permission! If you don't know what a BP statement is, please consider looking at this post.

I have now podficced every available First Kill fic on AO3. Many are still in the editing process but I dedicated myself to doing it to help the works on the archive be more robust and more accessible to folks who prefer to listen to works.

Podfic is wonderful but blanket statements also cover things like artwork!

I am so lucky that creators like @isabrella and saiditallbefore have BP statements because they are some of my favorite writers on the archive. I am so grateful to the authors who gave me permission specifically to tackle their works.

But one way we do keep our favorite media alive is through fanworks. And while we need to keep pushing for the show to be picked up by others, we cannot ignore the incredible work that creators put out there. Podfic is one of the only ways I can even read because my brain processes things really well when I read them out loud and I literally found @isabrella because of her blanket permission statement.

So please, First Kill fanfic authors. I'm begging you to consider including a BP statement somewhere on ao3 or on your tumblr. There's even an incredible archive with an extension that allows people interested in creating transformative works to SPECIFICALLY find your fan works if you have a statement up.

i know y'all like to bash on twitter users and such but like... the fandom i would consider myself to be the most active part of has a much higher twitter presence and interactions over there tend to be more boosting for me. like posts on there i make will get a lot more interaction than on here.

if we want a higher tumblr presence for these smaller fandoms, we need to be more active. it's that simple. i track certain tags so i can try to boost those smaller users who are trying to create that fandom presence over here.

going to look through all of the podfics i've posted in summer swap and pod-o-ween and see which ones i was really excited about the cover art of OR ones that were a LOT of work OR ones that work for multiple events

then i'll queue up those crossposts

just because between those 2 events, that would be over 80 podfics to crosspost and that's... too much for me even when i'm not busy
