Kajto - Tohuvabohuo Kite - Tohuvabohuo
(translation of explanatory slide at the beginning): “Tohuvabohuo is a word, originating from Hebrew words ‘tohu va bohu,’ which the London Bible [a common Esperanto translation of the Bible] translates as “formless and desert.” It describes the chaotic state of the world before the firmament of the heavens and the earth. In extra-biblical contexts, it more generally is synonymous with ‘absolute chaos,’ ‘senseless formlessness,’ and similar.”
Lyrics:
La ord’ en la la vortaro plaĉas al mi. (The order in the dictionary is pleasing to me) La sistematiko plenigas min per ĝuo. (The systematics fill me with joy.) Tamen el la vortoj kiujn mi trovis en ĝi, (However, out of the words which I find in it) La plej be-la estas tohuvabohuo (The most beautiful is “tohuvabohuo”)
Mi agnoskas la gravecon de bona librotenad' (I acknowledge the importance of good bookkeeping) Kaj de klara sistemo por kvitancoj kaj fakturoj. (And of a clear system for receipts and bills) Tamen al mia propra administrad' (However, to my own management) Nur aplikiĝas unu vorto: tohuvabohuo. (Only one word applies: tohuvabohuo.)
De miaj ĝardeno kaj domo la stat' (Of my garden and house, the state) Pravigas nur unu konkludon: (Makes correct only one conclusion:) Kiel ajn mi provas konformiĝi al mia deca strat', (However I try to conform to my proper street) Mi ne povas elsaviĝi el tohuvabohuo. (I cannot be saved from tohuvabohuo.)
Notes: This song displays what I really like about Kajto: catchiness and humor. Not much to say translation-wise, other than I think that poetically, this song is really well constructed.
