Iruka was not terribly fond of snow. He didn’t hate it, exactly, but if he never had to walk through the snow again, he wouldn’t be upset. It’d snowed recently in Konoha, and the garden was positively covered in it. He’d volunteered to shovel a path between the engawa and the gate, but he was currently regretting it.
The sound of footsteps crunching the snow made him look up. Kakashi stood before him, a snowball in hand. Iruka glared at him in warning.
“Don’t you dare throw that snowba-” He was interrupted by said snowball hitting him in the face. “Goddammit!”
Someone laughed and his head snapped towards the engawa, where a bundled up Kourubi stood watching, a hand over her mouth to hide her giggles.
“Think this is funny, do you?” Iruka shouted across the garden, scooping up snow from around his feet. “Let’s see how you like it!”
“Iruka no! AHHH!” Kourubi squealed as the cold hit her face. “Alright, that’s it!”
A short while later, Sasuke peeked out of the house, a disbelieving look on his face. “Seriously? How old are you?” His question was answered by a lump of snow to the face.
Kourubi grinned. “Old enough to like things!” She shouted when Kakashi wrapped his arms around her from behind and lifted her into the air.
“I captured the princess, that means I win.”
“We never agreed to that!” Iruka argued, brushing off the snow from his coat. “But if it means I can get out of the cold, then so be it.”
“We should do this again,” Kourubi chirped, apparently perfectly content to let Kakashi carry her back towards the house.
Iruka leveled her with a look that his students were all too familiar with. “We are never doing this again. I’m cold and tired and sore.”
They did it again the very next time it snowed.

Kourubi didn’t go on missions with Kakashi and Iruka very often. Iruka stayed in the village most of the time, and whenever Kakashi went on missions they were way out of her depth. The fact they’d been assigned the same C-ranked escort mission meant either there wasn’t anyone else to take it, or someone thought they were being funny. Considering Izumo and Kotetsu were working the missions office that week, Kourubi was fairly certain it was the later.
They’d just completed their mission earlier that evening, dropping off the delightfully sweet old man with his daughter, and were just about to settle down for a night at the local inn.
“Well, uh, there’s just one problem,” the innkeeper admitted. “We’ve only got single rooms. We mostly get merchants through here, you see, and they tend to like their privacy…”
“It’s alright,” Kourubi interrupted. She glanced over her shoulder to her boys with a smile. “We can share.”

Kourubi, obviously. Iruka and Kakashi have their moments but Kourubi is Little Miss Kisses-for-everyone so.

Generally, Kourubi’s in the middle so it just depends on how they toss and turned that night, but in pairs, Kourubi is always the little spoon.
