gambling may be yumeko’s first love and her biggest vice, but you as her lover are a very close second. very very close. but still just barely second. (at least she’s self aware?)
she is extremely observant and very quick to pick up on even the slightest shift in your demeanour or behaviour — which makes it borderline impossible to hide anything from her, especially sickness or upset, unless you have a godly poker face… or just happen to luck out and not run into her until you’re completely back to normal
every now and again she does try and push you to gamble with her, or to take even more risky bets against others. of course this comes from a good place, as she just wants you to experience the same rush that she does, and she will eventually acquiesce if you really aren’t so keen on putting down your entire net worth on a single bet… but she will never stop asking so long as you’re together (she just wants you to have as much fun as her, is all)
that being said despite her love for taking extreme risks while gambling, when it’s just the two of you having a bit of fun yumeko prefers to stick to more ‘harmless’ bets. like who has to pay for your next date, or having to kiss the winner a certain amount of times. not because she doesn’t want to take greater risks with you, but because it just doesn’t hit the same for her when all of your assets are gonna end up joined anyway — and, besides, she can always get her thrills elsewhere if the urge strikes
appreciates it if you express concern for her wellbeing after or just before an extensive loss — as while she doesn’t feel that same empathy for those she crushes during her winning bets, she can understand why you are concerned for her as your lover and finds it endearing — but she would appreciate it even more if you stood by and supported her more unusual methods of indulging her gambling addiction… even if both of you can acknowledge that it isn’t the healthiest habit to have
circling back to her incredible memory, yumeko is also a superb gift giver and always manages to get you exactly what you wanted for every holiday or birthday you celebrate together — sometimes even picking gifts that you end up loving despite never having thought about that specific item or experience before
she has, lovingly, referred to your relationship as ‘the greatest gamble i ever took’ (and a few other variations thereof) on several occasions, specifically to annoy mary who finds the phrase so disgustingly cliche that you can see her cringe whenever yumeko says it… but at least ryota thinks it’s kinda sweet so there’s that?
her sister may not be the woman she used to be but it’s still important to yumeko that the two of you actually meet once you start dating… and she is very firm in her belief that suoko would have approved of you and your relationship if she had the same presence of mind that she did when they were younger
she tends to lean towards more traditional terms of endearment, like ‘darling’ or ‘dear’, when referring to you but she doesn’t have any real preference when it comes to whatever you want to call her
