Hey, guys! I'm still delulu and I like it. 🤪 So...here's another theory and some more numbers! FIRST, what if the Duffers never intended on their fans being so SMART and figuring out all their clues so FAST, and they had this plan that they would reveal all their plot holes and inconsistencies through post-finale interviews and the documentary (which was obviously for no other purpose than to numb everyone's brains and show how STUPID the Duffers are). So they put the dumb thing out because Netflix said they had to stick to their original schedule, never having imagined how far ahead of schedule Byler fans would put everyone! They never counted on conformitygate!!!

That said, here are some more numbers to throw around:

1. Valentine's Day. I can't remember my thinking on this originally, but...why not?🤷‍♀️

2. The 15th. Because someone said they mentioned # 15 in the doc, but tbh I wasn't paying enough attention to pick up on it.

3. The 17th. 1...7. Again, why not?

4. The 18th. Here are 2 why's: because Jamie said 12 when he put out that Vecna exercise vid on the Tonight Show on the 6th, and 6+12=18! Also because blue is supposed to meet yellow in the west, which would be 9:45, and 9+4+5=18!

5. Then again, there's always November 6.

Stranger Things spoilers:

I don't like horror, so this show was never my genre, but I love that they offered more genres than just that and a lot of homages (I'm a huge fan of the Kali plot line in season 2, for instance). I don't think the finale was scary, but I also don't think it was supposed to be.

It's in the desert. It's in the light of the sun for a reason. They all end up staring at this major villain choking on his own blood and hoisted on his own petard for a reason. They all watch Joyce kill him for a reason. Will offered him a human sort of empathy, and he rejected it. They made it clear this was not a guy controlled by an entity, nor was it an entity controlled by this guy.

There's a reason we got to see everyone contribute and they all got to be badasses. There's a reason Will came out and got past that fear. There's a reason they got to have each other's backs and be victorious without, in my opinion, losing anyone at all. Because the clear victimization of these children (made actually way too clear with the mouth attachments; no thank you) and adults lost its power in part 8. It was no longer this unseeable, unknowable, unspeakable thing.

They were writing like in my "Timeshare" series where everyone contributes to going up into Heaven. Lots of characters getting together, all having their specific roles. It's fun. It's strategy. It's not supposed to be scary. It's not Nancy and Jonathan alone in the woods with something no one has ever seen and lived to tell the tale about.

Jonathan and Nancy suffered in silence. Joyce suffered in silence. People were not able to tell each other things because they would not be believed. Eleven was suffering in silence, and her biggest supporter was a kid who was often angry and not understanding her just like the other two kids because no adult was there at first to be able to support and protect her and help her process her trauma.

Will was suffering alone without the ability or even knowledge to truly explain everything his being went through. We had Max all alone in season 4, and then in season 5 in Henry's mind. We had Dustin grieving Eddie and feeling all alone. We had Eddie all alone before that, literally hunted and reviled by the whole town.

Everyone was on a journey, and everyone came out on the other side (except Kali, but I’ve decided she faked her death and got out of the Upside Down). This whole thing was like a metaphor for trauma, specifically in many cases sexual trauma, and I think that's so intentional.

It's okay everyone is happy and alive. That's the point, I think.
