I really shipped them as a kid but also they had no reason to actually be together and that really bothered me??? Like crow only went after leaf because she looks like feathertail and leaf was into bad boys i guess? Even when they ran away together it was so fleeting and emotionless.

Honestly it definitely partly ties into the fact that the Erins couldn’t write a proper romance to save their collective lives.  In the rewrite, I probably won’t even have Crow crushing on Feather, or at least crushing on her in the way he did in canon where it was like borderline obsessive?  Either way, it’s not going to be the Big Deal that it was in the books

Dove and ivy being in riverclan also adds a layer if interest to the power of 3, with jay dove and lion to work a bit harder to meet up

i’m actually doing three powered cats per clan! .o. i felt it was unfair that thunderclan gets all the special stuff and with the way i’m changing the story it make a lot more sense that ALL the clans have powered cats! so riverclan’s powered cats are willowshine, ivypool, and dovewing, who are gonna be sisters (and also have their ages tweaked so they’re closer in age to lion, holly, and jay)

It would be neat to instead of him staying at the farm have be more like... a safe space for him? Like he knows he can go see barley and relax and not worry about anything, but have him always coming back.

That’s an interesting idea! Regardless of what I do, he’s still going to be a part of the clan, but I wouldn’t mind the idea that he disappears and goes out to the barn if he needs some time away from everyone and also maybe have an excuse to see a certain Windclan tom that I’ve started shipping him with

fenris is such a good and complex character beyond just “i’m broody and i hate mages” like his thoughts and opinions are well-informed, he just lacks experience and worldview to expand on them, so naturally his first instinct is to be wary of all mages, because that’s all he knows.

That said, he’s isn’t irrational. he doesn’t lash out the moment he sees a mage--he takes a mage!hawke at face value and lets their actions determine how he views them.  He’s open and even friendly to Bethany as well.  The only reason he hiss and spits like an angry cat around anders and merrill?  One of them is possessed and the other is a blood mage.  I’d have my nose out of joint over that too. he’s thoughtful and intelligent and much more logic driven than i think a lot of the fandom assumes.

but because da2 is a fundamentally unfinished game, he wasn’t given a proper arc at all to confront his views of mages and templars.  all he gets at the end of the game is the chance to follow hawke’s decision--and it’s the amount of friendship or rivalry points that determines that, not anything else. and kirkwall would have been the perfect place too for fenris to realize that there are two ends of the spectrum, that maybe at the end of the day, non-mages can be just as evil and dangerous as mages.

Honestly fast and loose works best? And most suffixes can be interpreted in multiple ways Ex. Thistle - spiky fur/prickly personality/purple eyed cat Snow - white fur/ vold personality/ spotted with white etc etc People will pull what ever meaning they want out of a name :3

Good point!  Plus it’d probably mean either changing a lot of names or bending over backwards to make pre-existing suffixes work and I want to keep the characters recognizable at least in that sense.
