Okay but. Kalina’s whole deal is so tragic? She was the Unnamed Goddess’s familiar. Presumably her whole identity revolved around that, her divinity stemming from her love for her witch. And then she was murdered, and had to turn Kalina into a plague for safety. And the thing is. The Nightmare King is NOT the Unnamed Goddess. Neither is Cass. She’s like fully dead. But Kalina still tried to bring the Nightmare King back, because she loves her witch, and everything she did was for her, but it didn’t even work. And now she’s either dead or stuck existing in a world where her main purpose is completely inaccessible. She is truly a poor little meow meow.

something fascinating to me is how calm kalina is. she’s so sure she’s going to come out on top. she’s been planning this for years at least so she has that right but it’s So cool. she’s dead certain of herself and her & tnk’s victory.

Thinking about. The Unnamed Goddess was supposed to die when they erased her name but she lived on as the Nightmare King because Kalina remembered. Kalina ALWAYS remembered, and she knew if she could get other people to remember she would come back and everything would be back to normal and she LOVED her, she LOVED her witch and would do anything for her even though she’s different now, anything to get her back.

personally i think junior year kalina IS actually good but spending so long evil has kind of messed up her behavior & whatnot so she just comes off as really uncanny

the idea of kalina ordering two strudel which she cant eat and then leaving without them killed me
