i just moved to new orleans and every day something happens to me that is so Main Character it’s almost like people were planted here to push the narrative
ive been thinking lately that my name should be synonymous with princess, queen, or priestess because of how often people call me stuff like that. my friends & family & people who know me have always done that, but even strangers will tell me without even hearing me speak. then when game of thrones came on the scene, my name (Kalise) became pretty much that types of word because it’s technically Daidnfjls Tamcsmdan’s title (idgaf abt her character sorry), so i get comments constantly from men trying to put me on a pedestal.
which they should because i came out of my mom before those books came out in bookstores!i held the title before some boring white guy decided to write me up and print me out! the things he can only imagine, i can do. and i don’t want a movie franchise about it.
as someone with a strong connection to my divine purpose, i try to take it everywhere it calls, and give it to everyone who needs it. it’s led me to places i didnt know could exist in our world. and im so grateful for how spiritually intact ive become despite the religious trauma that surrounds us in the west.
so coming to new orleans was a no brainer once id made my initial global round. everywhere else i been really set me up with the tools to enact the change that i am contracted by name to do. which means i need to exhume the deepest layers of trauma, both in myself and in my transplanted community. im lucky enough to have family here as a causeway and i give thanks to the land and everyone who is a part of it every day.
anyway, i just went into a smoke shop in the french quarter and the person behind the desk was a girlfriend of mine i hadnt met yet. we talked about our pets and signs for a while (she guessed mine first try) and she wrote down her number for me. signed it nikia
she asked me my name & when i told her she was like “whats that mean??it sounds like queen or princess or something” i totally GAGGED! i said i love you & she was like i love you more and call me! she told me wisdoms of the city that are essential for my work here. so as the good starts to unfurl, we know to thank nikia!
