I discovered Shin Godzilla (2016).

My morbid loving ass has been talking about it constantly and I'm not a Godzilla fan!

I mean LOOK AT THIS SHIT!

The fact he keeps mutating is so damn cool. He jaw separates at the bottom like a snake when he goes to use his beam! I practically jumped in excitement when I saw it!

Look at what this guy starts out as (dubbed Kamata-kun):

He's just a cute yet disturbing little guy. And it's his birthday because look what he turns into not long after (Shinagawa-kun):

Then he leaves and comes back like this (Kamakura-san):

The glow up is fucking amazing. This is the most metal version of Godzilla I have ever seen! Mecha Godzilla can eat it!

I feel so damn bad for him. He's constantly in so much pain with the mind of a toddler. Poor thing QAQ

Then there's this creepy bullshit coming out of his tail later on:

My love for him grows the more I find out about this asexual icon. I haven't been this excited about a Sci-Fi creature since I revisited The Thing earlier this year.

Been thinking about tattooed Jason Todd again, and happened to get into a conversation about movies with a few mutuals. Boom! I was struck with the need to see Jason with an enormous Shin Godzilla tat. Be the change you want to see in the world, and all that.

I imagine Jason would like the movie, it holds valuable commentary about government bodies failing the civilian populace through inaction in the face of disaster, and the necessity of fresh ideas. He might even feel some manner of kinship with the big kaiju. An affront to nature, red and battle-scarred, and most of all, hard to kill/keep dead. Let's not forget about the Tragedy

The rest of the tattoos were less certain sketches that I trialled to even out the distribution a bit, and liked enough to ink into this final product!

The knuckle lettering is the first letters of each word in a sentence from a poem by Dylan Thomas, the words being "Do not go gently into that good night". I'm not totally happy with the execution, but it feels like a poem Jason would really like so I kept it.
