In a Little Mermaid AU, who do you think would be Ariel, Steve or Tony? I’ve thinking about writing one in the future and I think Tony would make a great Ariel, but I’d like a second opinion. What do you think?

Hmmmm! I kind of think Steve would make a good Ariel actually! (Tbh esp if it’s smol Steve I’m... 🥺) just very outgoing and way too brave and always making his Ma and Bucky nervous swimming to the surface and collecting little treasures? Aahhh. Also, Tony with Howard and Maria can be the prince Eric character and meet Steve by accident 🥰🥺❤️

I’ve been rewatching season 1 of AA on Netflix recently, and I watched in a few different languages, just for fun. In THAT scene in the vents from In Deep Steve says, roughly translated from Norwegian to English ‘-you are tougher than the train. It was you who invented the train!’ And when Clint interrupts their moment in the season finale, instead of saying Bromance (‘cause us Swedes don’t really have a word for that) he says ‘I hate to break up the honeymoon.’ The whole world ships these two!

I love how when Wonder Woman came out, I heard people so ready to praise it and claim it as amazing and great and “the good DCEU movie” but now that Captain Marvel is people suddenly have expectations of these movies or claim it’s going to ruin all MCU movies because “its feminist and political”. I’ve looked up some Audience Reactions of the movie and compared to other Marvel movies, the audience is practically dead. I’m sure it has nothing to do with the costume at all, though. Nope, not at all

Well I mean, of course their outfits feed into the different perceptions of the two heroes, but besides both being female-led superhero films, WW and CM can’t really be compared like this since they’re from two very different franchises.

The DCEU has never been anywhere near as successful as the MCU, so WW’s success in comparison to the rest of the DC films was no surprise at all. WW didn’t widely loved films like Iron Man, Avengers, TWS, BP, etc. to live up to. I hate to say this, but the fact is that the standards have always been lower when it came to DCEU films because they’ve just never been consistently good. 

On the other hand, CM has 21 other films that it’s being stacked against and 10+ years of a franchise history. Expectations are higher in the MCU fandom because of that. So to compare two films from two different franchises like this really isn’t fair. If WW were part of the MCU, it probably would have received a ton of negative reactions too, regardless of her costume.

Either way, we shouldn’t be pitting these two films against each other because they both have knocked it out of the park and are paving the way for more female superheroes to take the lead.

Hi, don’t know if you’ve already seen it, but I saw this comic of the Adaptoid episode, and we get to read Steve’s thoughts, something along the lines of ‘I have the utmost respect for Tony, he’s a genius and the closest I’ve got to a best friend-’. And the end of the same comic where they confirm they train together, alone. And In Deep, where Hawkeye says they’re more nauseating than normal when they are alone. I have no reason for telling you this, I just felt like sharing it with someone! 😁

…………..it doesn’t seem scientifically possible but somehow these comics are actually gayer than the show itself holy shit

So... April getting blamed for Splinter being killed? There are even some people who says that Apriltello is dead because Casey was comforting her as the boys carried away the body. What are your thoughts? (We who follow you probably already know, but I still want to know)

I honestly haven’t seen this on Tumblr at all… but then again I’ve greatly cut back on looking at TMNT tags due to idiocy like this. But since you asked…

I think that if people are blaming April, it’s because they either hate her or see this as a chance to bash on a ship. Which, as anyone who knows me knows, pisses me off. But hey, lets look at this logically. So I guess dome would say ‘April has powers, she could have used them to save Splinter!” True, April has psychic abilities and she has improved on them greatly… but they aren’t as powerful as they were when she has the Aeon crystal. She also got beaten tot he curb and used a lot of her energy during the fight. Plus honestly what COULD she have done? Even if she could have used her powers to stop Splinter form falling off the roof, she couldn’t stop him from bleeding to death after Shredder stabbed him. That happened too fast for anyone to prevent.

Yes, April DID use her powers to shove Shredder off the roof, but that was an emotional reaction. As we have seen before (The Invasion, Buried Secrets, Annihilation: Earth… infact she did the exact same thing in that episode) when April reaches an emotional breaking point, her powers react to it. When Splinter died the first time? Her powers reacted unwittingly and pushed Shredder hard enough to knock his helmet off. This time she may have had more control over it, but she still did the exact same thing, only into a garbage truck that time. That was all she had left in her and by then it was too late to do anything else, and trust me if she could have saved hims he absolutely would have.

Now Apritello, that has nothing to do with this. It disgusts me that people want to bring shipping into this situation. Donnie just lost his father, but he knows that it was Shredder who caused it because he saw it. Why in the Hell would he blame April for it? Yes Casey comforted April, Donnie was grieving too much to do it himself cause… you know, his dad died, and Casey and April ARE friends. Say what you want about Casey, he cares about April and he does know better, as seen in Buried Secrets. Of course he was going to comfort April, that’s what friends do. Shipping should not even be talked about during this because IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS. FOR ONCE FORGET ABOUT SHIPPING GDI.

…okay that’s all I’ve got. I can’t stop the haters, but April did nothing wrong. No ships are dead. Fandom still needs to get their act together. That’s all I have to say.

It really says something that the cartoon that ‘replaced EMH and is just a bad copy of the MCU’ taught me more about Clint Barton than any of the movies ever did. Like seriously, MCU!Clint has been in three movies and I literally didn’t know anything about him, other than he has a bow and arrow and a bland family. He was just kinda there and honestly, kind of a jerk. I didn’t even understand the code name, why is he called Hawkeye. It never felt like the movies took time to explain him at all.

HELL YES!

AA!Clint is fantastic, and it says a lot that one of the first things AA does is a) characterize him and b) address his backstory. Like, I don’t like it when people call AA an MCU clone but there are definitely a bunch of points where the show assumes you know the MCU well enough to fill in some background details (most obviously Iron Man 1) and one of the things they did with their first season is go into Clint’s backstory. And as the seasons go on, he gets better.

Season 2, he’s supportive of Tony during the whole Arsenal debacle, and he and Natasha get the clearest reasons as to why they chose which side. He constantly gets moments to show how awesome he is and take on bad guys one on one, he’s the one who figures out the pattern to the Space Stone, and remains the hilarious. Like humor is subjective, but he’s such a snarky asshole but also a sweetheart and I love him. So much.

And then you get season 3, where Clint gets a whole character arc about helping Mimi reform her villainous ways, complete with call backs to his old life, then helps Natasha get away during the Civil War while also convincing Mimi to help them. And if you count “Why I Hate Halloween” as part of season 3, which I do, he helps protect Whitney Frost and fights off a bunch of vampires. AA goes out its way to make it clear that Clint’s useful and skilled in ways the others aren’t.

He’s basically the Gina Linetti of the team.

You know, your posts about Tony has gotten me thinking about another possible fear; Tony being afraid of being the one hurting his friends. Like, bear with me here, imagine him (especially now after being controlled by Ultron) being terrified of being forced to kill the team himself. So instead of disbanding the Avengers, Tony quits the Avengers and starts working solo again, thinking it’s the best way to keep them safe from, not only Ultron, but himself as well.

god this hurts so much but so good, because if you really think about it, Tony’s fear of losing his friends has ALWAYS been related to his own abilities in some way

like, in Season 1 it was a fear of not being a good enough leader, of not making the right calls and taking the wrong risks (e.g. here and here). Season 2 & 3 had to do with his fear of not being smart/capable/strong enough to keep up with what was needed of him (e.g. here and here)

just…fuck, the man already puts so much pressure on himself, if Ultron ends up leaving Tony doubting even the safety of his own two hands, I will hunt that son of a bitch myself and kick his metal ass
