In honor of The Phantom of the Opera On Ice stream today, please enjoy my personal favorite competitive poto program from recent memory:

Poto is a warhorse in figure skating, & yet it's pretty rare that anyone comes close to Getting It. This one is choreographed by Marina Zoueva (so you know it's complex & nuts) & Daisuke's history with his previous poto program in singles adds an extra layer of "oh wait. maybe we have a chance of approaching the Freak Behavior I desire."

Watch the whole video for some gorgeous/feral slow motion shots. This was the last skate of kanadai's competitive career, & I'm so glad they went out on a bang(er).
