“Excuse me sir, may I have a moment of your time?” He approached the businessman with seeming ease. Hiding any anxiety was something he did well at this point.
“I’ve heard much about your DEVA project and was hoping you could tell me a bit more about it.” It reminded him of the cognitive research Wakaba had been conducting, learning about the metaverse and such. He figured learning about this DEVA system could be useful as well.

He was going to be arriving in three minutes. He probably wasn’t aware of the fact yet, but the shopkeeper was. That’s all that mattered, really.
The Count had made sure that his visitor cleanly missed Amano and Co. by an hour. There was no way the two groups could run into each other yet.

Ah, right, there was the Paradox running amok. He had been acting behind the scenes, of course, trying to keep everything neatly wrapped in a bow- the Count took a moment to adjust his own necktie and smiled to himself. Tatsuya was so much fun to unwrap...
But it wasn’t Tatsuya that he would be seeing. To be honest, the Count’s visitor wasn’t that much older than Tatsuya- ten years. Only ten years apart, and Kandori was a dead man walking.
