🎨#ArtIsAWeapon If you can brave today's freezing cold weather, get to @acagalleries to see @kandyglopez 's exhibit before it closes! As always, photos do not do this work justice! GO!
🖼✍️🏾reposted from @acagalleries Today is the final day to experience ‘Textile Truths: Faces of Resilience’.
Since opening in November, the exhibition has had an extraordinary run, receiving press from Vogue, The New York Daily News, North Dakota Today, NY1 News and more. It sparked a public conversation between Kandy G Lopez and Lisa Farrington, inspired a hands-on workshop led by the artist, and most importantly, welcomed so many new faces into our gallery and community. For that, we are deeply grateful.
While this exhibition comes to a close, it is not the final opportunity to encounter Lopez’s work. A selection from the show will be on view at our nearby gallery location for the next month, with a traveling exhibition opening this spring. Stay tuned for details.
We are open today from 11am to 6pm. Join us for one last visit.

“These works are about representation,” Lopez reflects. “They are about witnessing people as they are, in this moment—about belonging and the bonds that sustain us.”
“Kandy’s work is more than portraiture; it is presence and testimony,” notes Mikaela Lamarche, Director and Curator at ACA Galleries. “Her practice affirms the networks of love and support that sustain communities while bringing forward the dignity and visibility of those too often overlooked.”
