Next, we all had fun building our own treehouses in the beautifully illustrated card drafting game, Best Treehouse Ever. It was an excellent game for me because (1) Shawna scored the lowest scores but still enjoyed the game and did not even have a shadow across her face. (2) Asher didn't give up and kept trudging on in good spirits even though he lost the first two rounds. He eventually won the game when he scored big in the third round which upped his total score. The win gave him a mega confidence boost which he really needed. (3) Isaac came in second, just behind his brother... Then he and I realised that we could possibly (most likely) have miscounted Asher's marks... But I looked at him and shook my head discretely. He immediately nodded and whispered to me "Let him be happy." 😱 I was astounded. For this ultra competitive boy of mine to be so gracious and generous to his brother in this way made me really very happy to see that he is finally understanding that there is more to games than just winning.
