Ooh, chouji/sasuke! Maybe some kind of fight? Not like they're fighting each other, more like they're on a mission or something and run into Trouble.
“Put it in the tree.”
Chouji had muttered that to him before disappearing and Sasuke knew they were out of options and almost out of time so he did as his lover asked. He put the kunai with its thin wire trailing into the nearest big tree and drew their enemy near.
The man was obnoxious but he was also hyped on natural chakra, one of Orochimaru’s failures facing another failure.
he was talking but Sasuke was ignoring him, listening for a very telltale noise.
It came seconds later- the ripping and tearing of ground under a spinning spiked wheel.
Their enemy turned and predictably caught Chouji mid-spin as he had before. He didn’t seem to care for the tearing of his hands as he did his best to find Chouji’s neck.
Sasuke watched as Chouji stopped midspin, upside down, and kicked their enemy straight in the face.
The man barely budged but that wasn’t the point. It gave Chouji room to jump back and crouch.
“Is that all you’ve got?” The man asked. “Pathetic. Fat and a one trick pony.”
Chouji’s smile was slow and overly kind. It chilled Sasuke to the bone.
“Maybe,” Chouji acknowledged, standing, “but it’s a real good trick.”
He pulled and the other end of the wire connected to the kunai Sasuke had anchored to the tree rose up in a loop around the man’s chest.
Chouji wrapped that wire around one huge arm and he began pulling.
Sasuke had seen the bisection attack performed by other Akimichi- most often by Chouij’s twin cousins Touma and Douma, and once by Chouji and his brother Chouichi. They normally used chain, which crushed before it cut.
The wire sliced, neat as Chouji cutting a section out of a cake.
Sasuke didn’t waste time. He had enough chakra left for a great fireball and he used it, uncertain if the corpse would reanimate or fuse back together. The end result was nothing but clumps of ash. Chouji neatly kicked them apart.
“Next time Naruto volunteers us for a snake lair raid,” Chouji said, “remind me to tell him to jump off a cliff.”
“You never would,” Sasuke said and dropped on his back. Chouji sat beside him and put a hand on his shoulder, infusing his lover with chakra.
“The Uchiha scion saved by an Akimichi with a piece of string. If this doesn’t convince them to up your chakra limit,” Chouji said, gazing with old anger at the seals he could see just below Sasuke’s collar, “nothing will.”
Sasuke leaned on him. There were plenty of things they should be doing- regrouping, finding Shino and Hinata, making sure that the last of the lair had been destroyed.
Fuck it. It could wait.
