Ladies in Love- Ch. 1 (Discoveries and Reality) 🍮🍪

When I saw her... I saw a brown haired girl, taller than me. A purple dress covering her small figure, and fearful brown eyes.

When she saw me, she saw a brown haired child, short and wearing a bathrobe to cover the dirt and malnutrition. Eyes brown and defiant, two personalities but with the same mission.

"Um...Hello? M-my name is Payton! Do you know how to get back to the Lady's chambers? I got lost trying to..." This Payton girl asked me to help her find her way back to a mysterious woman's room. This was the exact woman I was looking for and I was all too excited, she confirmed that she indeed not only existed but was here!

"You know the Lady?! She's real? She lives here?!" I squealed absolutely in awe. She jumped afraid at the sudden pitch of my voice but vigorously nodded,

"Yes! She is here, I'm her student. Do you have some sort of relationship with her?" Payton asked her eyes searching mines for a response.

"I do! That's my mother! I've been looking for her, and...what do you mean student?!" I was about to go on a passion filled rant, but what she said earlier finally sunk in. Why would she have students?! She wouldn't need them once she had Kano in her midst.

"Yes. I'm her student, she's training me to take over when I'm an adult. And as for you being her daughter...are you sure? I've never even seen you so much as mentioned." Payton wonders as she regards me with suspicion. My eyes narrow, so she's calling me a liar and making up lies herself? Well that won't do at all!

"Listen kid, I'm the real deal. I'm her kid and you're just some pushy brat, I think you're the one lying about being a student!" The girl who seemed timid and wimpy puffed out her chest her eyes shining with something akin to pride,

"I'm not lying! If you don't believe me why don't you come with me. I won't be able to guarantee your safety though, she's not a fan of children after all. I'm just the special exception." Whatever pride she had shrunk to a wary and solemn warning. I was a bit intimidated by her warning but I wasn't going to admit that of course.

"Well do you know where we are Payton?" I asked my impatience no longer being hidden by my faltering smile. She looked around and nodded,

"Yes! I know where we are, and I know a shortcut! We need to hurry though, if I'm gone for too long she'll search for me." I wave my hand dismissively and follow this kid to the unknown.
