A @commander-titania inspired outfit sheet for my Necromancer Kao Lai! With an extra little lore dump about him below the break!

1-79: Kao Lai was a Kurzick scholar from House Durheim studying necromancy abroad in Tyria when the water dragon awoke and made travel to Cantha impossible.  Stranded and alone, Kao Lai threw himself into his studies hoping to someday be strong enough to return home.

80: With every skill learned, and every talent mastered Kao Lai becomes a full fledged Necromancer and joins the Durmand Priory hoping to help combat the ever increasing dragon threat.

HoT: With Zhaitan defeated and his choke-hold of the dead no longer an issue, Kao Lai retreats to the inner sanctums of the Priory where he painstakingly studies the process of becoming a Lich.  His pursuit of undeath brought about by a desire to learn everything the Priory had to teach him, and not enough time to learn it all.  Kao takes on the guise of a Reaper due to their liberal use of body concealing robes, his undead state remains a secret to The Pact and Destiny’s Edge.

Living World: After Mordremoth’s defeat Kao Lai travels the world helping wherever and however he can.  Expanding his mastery of magic and the world around him, all while keeping his true identity a mystery.  At this point his colors of choice shift from light Kurzick grays, to a full spectrum of various dark colors, as he begins to feel disassociated with his old home.

PoF: Kao Lai travels to Elona as part of a humanitarian group to help those suffering in the wake of Balthazar’s campaign. He begins to train as a scourge, drawn to the Ritualist-esk way they control sand shades.  His spectral torch, and hellfire gloves/mantel garner him the nickname: Kao the Helflame.

Post Joko: With Joko’s death, Kao Lai proclaims himself the ‘Next Scourge of Vabi.’ Vowing to embrace the role of guide for the Dead and Awakened, but showing disinterest in pursuing any actual political power.  Kao Lai helps to bring purpose to any awakened who wish to remain, and rest to those who do not.  Vowing to restore a balance that Joko has long kept undone.
