Last Advice for this current mcat
My Mcat scores came out, there were not bad but not as good as i hoped. So i hope this is the last time i would be giving any mcat advice. Hopefully my next advice would be for USMLE haha
My PS/BS were not bad but still need improvement, which i hope i will be seeing in this last weeks. i figured out a new method for verbal, let me know if you try it and if it works for you.Â
Verbal #ThankMeLater This is honestly the kaplan method with a twist I was struggling with my verbal score for a while now, my BS & PS are almost where i want them but my verbal score was pathetic, then i found my break. I have been using this method for about 2 weeks now, and i have been averaging 10 - 12's constantly as opposed to my regular 5's & 6's. Tactic Allocate 10 mins to each passage ( so you will be doing only 6 out of 7 passages. 007 on the last one). Do not go around looking for what passage to skip, if the passage seems to difficult to read to go to the next one. . In my non-expert opinion it is better to get 30/40 questions right if you take your time as opposed to getting less by rushing. Read the passage not for detail, read for keywords ( contrast keywords, continuation keywords etc). (The skill that increased my score) Read the question and before you look at the answer choices, make sure you understand what the question is asking you and always always go back to the passage and match the answer, that way when you look at the answer choices you know what exactly you are looking for. Avoid extreme answers. -It's just like when you misplace you keys, your brain directs you to only notice the things around your room that look like your keys. This has also helped me in answering BS & PS questions that as based on a passage TRY THIS & TELL ME IF IT WORKS FOR YOU. IF IT DOES NOT WORK FOR YOU TRY SOMETHING ELSE. Message me if you have any questions
Practice & Review
Practice as much as you can and always review after practicing. Just finished a practice test now, although my score is not yet where i would like it to be, it is improving. a couple points from my last practice. Review so you do not keep making the same mistakes, and you can get more points like gang busters.Â
