I'm also interested in Iskandar/Achilles interactions. Fate!Achilles is someone who isn't that fond of his actions, but is too hotblooded to do anything productive about it. He also learned in Apo that seeking fights to the exclusion of everything else is a bad idea. I think he would like the adoration, but at the same time be uncomfortable with all the shit Iskandar pulled in his name. Iskandar, on the other hand, would be blind to that, he is too passionate to consider other people's feelings.

I ABSOLUTELY AGREE WITH THAT LIKE OK LIKE Disclaimer for obv reasons just for the sake of it: I am not fond of Fate!Achilles or really any Achilles but I like love this idea. 

Because it’s true like from what we’ve EVER seen about ANY Achilles is that he has regrets. That he thinks what he did was stupid. And that fighting and seeking glory and bloodshed-addled warzones for the sake of the thrill is the dumbest fucking way you can live your life - and that’s like ENTIRELY what Iskandar’s character and life is about. He is the definition of a warhawk. 

And if Achilles heard about the genocide he committed in his standing, or the various ways that Iskandar’s tried to live out his existence roleplaying Achilles in all sorts of incidents like ... he would hit him with the truth. Achilles is not one to mince words or try to be kind, like, this is the man who regretted the way he treated Hector after everything AND THAT’S THE MOST FAMOUS THING HE DID... Iskandar of course tried to replicate this very incident with somebody and it was brutal and uncalled for and Achilles wouldn’t hesitate to tell him that. It would shatter his entire worldview. 

Which is funny because we have hints that Iskandar doesn’t necessarily adhere to that worldview at times too! 

It would force him to reconsider the reasons why he wants to be reincarnated - not for the sake of conquest and war, even though that’s like, his problematic hyperfixation he pretends he can’t help - he would have to realize it’s for the sake of living in of itself. 

Iskandar has kind of a 50/50 chance of being able to understand it. There is a chance he may be too hotblooded to believe Achilles after being told that his desires are bullshit and that he shouldn’t try to replicate them; but there’s a chance he would understand and it would crush him. And that’s exciting to me because the chance to see a devastated Iskandar in Fate series media would make me more than glad because the most interesting period of Alexander the Great’s life to me is not his campaigns or his upbringing, it’s his grief, it’s the period of massive grief he held after Hephaestion died, and I would ADORE for him to have to reconcile with the subject of mortality again. Like FUCK

Especially the part about Xion being handled poorly is SO ACCURATE. I know everyone is happy and raving about her and I guess it’s because she had screen time so I can’t fault them? But her story was so bad, her inclusion in the Norts was ridiculous and stupid and hurts Xemnas in turn as well, he has been turned into the most incompetent of the norts thanks to DDD and 3. WHY would he pick Xion when she turned on the organization before? Don’t even get me started on the heartfelt reunion of the Seasalt trio because to me they’re the weakest trio not only due to their history but also because they went out with a bang and Lea should apologize his butt off to Roxas and her.

Which brings me to another thing: Her life sucked, her return was badly handled and now she is forced to be best buds with her former abuser.

I don’t even like Xion but I get weirdly protective of her when I see people being like “Isa is Xion’s dad now uwu” because YUCK NO. NO NO NO. KEEP HIM AWAY FROM THIS POOR GIRL. His “redemption” is worse than Lea’s, Lea at least actively helped the good guys and has always been morally ambiguous while Isa or rather Saix has been evil from the beginning of his Organization career and I don’t take this bullshit about him being the only person thinking about subject x and doing everything for her while throwing everybody else under the bus. 

There was such an outrage over Lea and Kairi being “forced” to become friends and yet this is so much worse?

In my non-american experience, school sports teams are usually comprised of people who are mostly chosen to fill numbers, because there aren't many kids who are actually interesting in competing. So, while teams do try their best in competitions, they aren't taken that seriously. It also means that kids who actually are into sports end up multitasking, like someone who is into swimming will be used to run in marathon, because hey, they do sports, that's more than others can say about themselves!

huh, TIL! not every American school is the same, ofc, but I’m used to sports being regarded as The Thing To Do, especially football, both participation and spectating-wise. in my experience the Hollywood cliches of “your whole college career is riding on a sports scholarship” and “jocks getting favoritism from teachers” are also legit. so ngl the idea of just filling numbers is pretty outlandish to me, haha.

Speaking of personality changes, something was bothering me since I watched AA anime. Is Japanese Maya really so, um, moe? Or is it just the anime? In games I saw her as energetic and funny "you won't know until you try" kind of girl, but in the series she was "anime girl №793685"...

That’s not quite just the Anime, tho I have to admit the Anime kinda made it way worse. As I’ve said in my post referencing how the characters are written in Japanese, originally Maya uses role-language that would *not* be out of place for a generic Anime (or Moe) girl, which is done to emphasize her childish nature. To that end, even in the games, she spoke in a manner typical of young teens (rather than the mid-to-late teen that she is), which made her seem pretty adorable, and the Anime ran with that and overemphasized those traits of hers. However, the official translation of the games is still very close (I’d say, even closer) to how she was originally written.

@kara-knuckles Ngl I’m not, he and P5MC are almost always at the top 2 of their P5 polls, I’d be more surprised if anyone but them were in the top two spots for the P5 kids. (Anne being ranked above Futaba, Yusuke, and Makoto? That is surprising too, only one who’d be more surprising is if Ryu or Haru were up there too)

I am a bit surprised neither one was in the top 3 tho.... XP

I'm ace, and I see Waver as ace precisely because he doesn't exibit any sexual interest in ANYONE, but gets super attached to people regardless of their gender. That attitude is what I associate with asexuality: it's not about not wanting sex, it's about not being defined by it. It also doesn't mean there can't be a relationship, he just has what people call "single target sexuality". I can see him in a relationship with a person of any gender, but they would need to have a close bond first.

See and I’ve seen some other ace waver interpretations before and I feel like that’s probably a very underrepresented representation as well. As a person who’s always been very like aroflux (having periods of time in my life where I’ve strongly ID’d as aro and others when I have not but my gender/sexuality have always been fluid so it’s not a surprise anymore) I’ve always felt a lot that sometimes people neglect to consider the kind of conditions that can make for a good relationship and a close bond is definitely one that I feel is important... much more than arbitrary ship concepts

1) The "YHVH is behind everything in other SMT universes" isn't entirely correct, there are universes that have nothing to do with him (DDS and DeSu2 just from the top of my head). As for branching, a lot of people take Raidou games as another point (Devil Summoner games are canon for early Persona at least (if you separate continuity), and first Raidou is where Mainline and Devil Summoner timelines split. There is also an interpretation that Raidou 2 splits into 3 timelines depending on ending)

2) Personally, I just take the SMT continuity in broad strokes, unless the connections are plot points or work flawlessly for the works involved. Having a canon multiverse that is established to have parallel worlds sure helps handwave inconsistencies (and make all endings/routes canon).

Honestly, generally I prefer to see the Persona Universe in its own little bubble, since at some point, the writers clearly didn’t worry anymore about tying it in with SMT-canon (I’d even argue that happened as early as the P2 duology). From what I’ve seen, it’s hard enough to sort out the MegaTen timeline as is, even if you played and read everything. I’m content trying to just figure out Persona on its own for now.

I'm another person who only saw Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty for the first time this year (2.8 hype was real), and I so agree with your points. From what I have seen, Cinderella gets the worst reputation out of the three, and I just can't understand why. The messages of the movie and the characterization of Cinderella were great, both the movie and the girl herself became instant favourites of mine. (and her world is still my favourite in BBS)

I guess Cinderella is just an easy figure to hate on, because the way she is framed and treated reflects an archetype many people these days have very negative feelings about, even though that’s not at all how her story ultimately plays out. That said, I’ll defend Cinderella to the end of time. Of the three original Princess movies, this is definitely the one that handled it’s heroine the best, imho.
