Changes to Karametra Oct.2019

With the release of Throne of Eldraine I thought I would go back to my decks and see if anything could be changed. For most of my decks it was simple; Phelddagrif just needed 1 spot for Folio of Fancies, Arlinn didn’t need anything and neither did my Pauper ramp deck. My Karametra deck on the other hand needed a couple of cards and the more I looked at the list, I decided to change a few things unrelated to Eldraine as well. So here is the break down:

Basically Garruk was good but often made the “might be cut” list, Birds is too expensive for a mana dork I might not get in my opener, Resurgent is REALLY good but I feel like it’s an unfair card so I’m dropping it, Beast & Gift are great but I’m switching them for other removal spells, Filigree is just my weakest 3-drop and my only artifact so that kind of bugged me, and Regrowth is good but I’m switching it for another recursion spell.

Charming Prince was a snap pick for Karametra since it’s an “Enter The Battlefield” effect deck so it HAD to come in. Fiend Hunter package is to replace some removal spells; the deck wants to play creatures to ramp even more, making this a 2-for-1, plus I can blink my creatures to pick a new target. Glimmerpoint is just for another blink effect. Admonition Angel is similar to Fiend package but on steroids, especially in a deck that puts so many lands into play. Finally Loaming Shaman is to replace Regrowth, I feel like if the game goes okay I end up drawing WAY too much of my deck and this would act as a protection to not deck myself, or to come back after a big board wipe.

I wanted to play The Great Henge but I don’t want to play cards over 10$ and just like Zendikar Resurgent the card is WAY too good tbh, it just adds to a combo-ish aspect of “play this, now I draw my entire deck” and it doesn’t feel right to me. Plus I already have creatures with the same effects, which feel more balanced. Anyways, that’s it for the changes!

Final version of my new Karametra deck! The last cards should arrive next week and I'm really excited to play it! It started as a toolbox deck with GSZ & stuff but I felt like tutors aren't that fun in EDH :/ I just want to cast an Eerie Interlude on a board full of ETB creatures including an E-Wit😩
