I think it’s the worst episode of the season, and maybe of the show. 90% of the thing is ooc or stupid. Why did Hook cast a dark curse? (no need to go from Storybrooke to Camelot). Why did he crush the heart of a true love of an old dark one ? (Rumple could have taken Merlin out of his tree before and cast the spell himself + totally at odds with S4 when the dark one lost his ability to love). Why didn’t Hook get a green and scaly skin after killing Merlin? Why Emma (who’s Sheriff) covered a murder? Why wasn’t Belle even relieved to see Rumple coming back alive from his fight? (he also spared Hook when he could kill him, recover his dark magic and yet be considered a hero). Belle and Emma’s reactions to what happens, it’s an upside-down world.
Yeah, it‘s definitely up there. Even leaving aside all the OOC nonsense (which I don’t), the plot was a shoddy mess, the foreshadowing non-existent, and while I try not to shout “idiot ball” every time I don’t like a plot development, I think it’s appropriate here. They tossed that thing around between them, as if they were playing piggy in the middle.
Embarrassingly enough, I didn’t even think that casting the curse was entirely unnecessary. Actually tells you a lot about how Youssef gotten to people casting that thing left, right, and centre, I guess. (Okay, this is me being grumpy and unfair, because it wasn’t that often, but I think I’m entitled to a little grumpiness right now)
{Quick request to anyone reading: I’m watching OUaT for the first time, and I want to avoid spoilers. So, if you want to discuss something spoilery, I’d be grateful if you could start a new post for that. Thank you!}
