Capital Idea?
Discussing the pervasive, invasive impact that finance culture has had on aspects of US culture with little or nothing to do with making profit. There’s the attention to “management” in non-profit organizations. There’s discussion of whether giving money to a homeless person is a good “investment”. There’s the demand for quantifiable results in education. There’s even talk of time “invested” in romantic relationships.
