5 things that make me happy
This is probably a good meme for me to participate in right now, because the past week has been a bit of a shit show, due to some major spending on the health care, dog care and car maintenance. And it ain’t over yet.
Bikes. Everything about ‘em makes me love ‘em. I like riding them. I like working on them. I like looking at them.
Coffee. I’ve never been much of a coffee person, but lately I’ve been seeding an addiction. It’s not a desperate one, but the smell of it makes me really happy lately.
Another addiction: Rock climbing. I started last October and now I try to get on the wall a couple times a week. It’s creative problem solving that also increases fitness. Plus the people there are always really nice to talk to.
I legit like my job, even when I’m dealing with annoying clients. I’m really lucky that way.
Edy’s Cinnamon Bun Fun flavor came back. This is the best big-brand commercial ice cream out there. I can’t say it’s the BEST ice cream ever, cuz karibikes rides for Jeni’s, and she tagged me, so…
So sorry karibikes and hermionesnicket that it's taking me so long to get your gifts sent out, I just want them to be really special

Name: Kari Blog: karibikes Awesome because: I’ve known you for a super long time! I admire your enthusiasm and athleticism, and love how your blog has some aesthetic elements but is not obnoxious. You’re a super rad lady!

Everything ok?
I dunno yet, but kinda no. I took her in to get her teeth checked and to prepare her for a cleaning.
One of her teeth has died, which I hadn’t noticed until only a couple of days ago when I was brushing them. That should be fine, hopefully, but I won’t know for sure until the cleaning (in about a month). You can tap the tooth and she doesn’t really react, so that’s a good thing, because it is unlikely that pain is occurring.
She’s still slightly overweight, a battle I’ve been fighting for her whole life. I thought I was doing alright, but she’s put on some weight over the last two years. Not healthy, but not gravely unhealthy either.
The worst news is that she’s developed a heart murmur, which likely means some kind of mietrial valve heart disease (common in beagles). Depending on the tests, we’ll see if it’s fine enough (”Her heart could outlive her”) or worse. Then I’ll just have to watch it as it progresses to the end.
The pamphlet I received (yep, we’re in pamphlet territory now) gives me hope because she hasn’t experienced any of the “major” symptoms, like lack of appetite or fainting or anything. Maybe mostly just lethargy, but that’s hard to see, cuz she’s already so lazy.
At any rate, I’ll find out more tomorrow when the tests come back.

Nope. This one is here in my area.

I plan on doing all of the above. Except dying. That's not really a big part of the plan. I may post photos, though...
