I love her and the only Manga I haven't read by her is Nana, being on hiatus I never got into it although I own the first 4 volumes. Do you think it's worth reading even though it's not finished? I mean I'm sure I'd love it but idk if it would be a bummer to not be able to finish it

I think it’s absolutely worth it. 

I feel like, even if unfinished, NANA is where she got to develop so many of the things she had hinted in other series and create something a lot more complex. I actually would like to re-read it now, having grown up and knowing more about myself and the world than I did when I read it first. It’s a bummer that it’s unfinished and I wish it had its proper ending, maybe one day it will, who knows, but I think that what’s there is worth the uncertainty. 

Having so many characters and such a long period of time to work on it allowed her to introduce a lot of dynamics, relationships and subjects that she may have not been able to add in other series, at least not as in-depth as she did there. I think the manga, for what it is, is probably one of the best josei manga there are tbqh. I never saw the anime version, because adaptations of Yaza mangas tend to disappoint me, so I can’t talk about that, but the manga for sure is worth anyone’s time.

Oh boy. One of the best scenes in television history is that bit from My Mad Fat Diary where Rae talks to her past self, it made me cry so hard and I felt it very deeply. I think my conversation would probably be very similar. Basically: you’re enough. 

I’ll leave the clip of that bit too because why not, it’s great.

Yo también estoy muy cansada de ver titulares de artículos del tipo por qué no se le han de poner películas de princesas Disney a las niñas hoy en día...

en una época había un video de una nena hablando mal de las princesas que estaba claramente planificado por sus padres, que se hizo viral, y me ponía de la cabeza...que haya espacio para crecimiento no quita el avance del medio ni las cosas que cada princesa aportó en su momento...

para mi taller elegí todas películas de princesas para demostrar el avance en la narrativa de las películas, porque creo que son las que mejor encapsulan la forma de narrar de una época determinada, pero cada princesa se apoya en los avances de la anterior y eso no les resta a todas su valor y sus aportes...pero qué se yo, aparentemente no pueden convivir...

3: First book that had a major influence on youAs in “book” specifically, probably Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll, that one I read the most as a kid, once I remember I read it like 10 times in a row. I learned to read when I was 3 with “Había una vez una princesa” by Graciela Montes, so that one’s important, but my biggest literary influence was probably María Elena Walsh and her songs and poems, they weren’t compiled in book-form, though. 

5: Favorite series and whyPeople is probably tired as hell of me saying this but His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman. I could list you the reasons why it’s great (someone already did a pretty good one here) but I’m just gonna say: to me a good book is the one that, when you’re done, makes you feel something that it was intending you to feel; but a great book is the one that, when you close it, when you’re done, it has changed you, not how you feel but who you are, the way you think, the way you see the world or the way you see yourself. Those books are the ones which hold true power, because they never leave you, they become part of you, not because of the stories they told or the characters they showed you, but because they gave you something else, a new configuration of the world. To me, that’s HDM.

What’s important is that you can feel at ease and confident with what you wear and how you look. If you can’t find an idea and this issue makes you feel more bad than good, maybe do it another time? Good luck, I think you’re gorgeous in any way :)

Thank you, sweetie! the thing is, I love designing, I love make up, I love sewing and I love pop culture and it's so unfair that I can't do cosplay because characters seem to be made for confident, slim, good looking people and I'm not brave enough to do it anyway, like many awesome people do, because I feel like a sub-par human being when I try. But well, I guess I'll just keep looking.
