“….Heheheh. You look pissed.” The human’s knife hit stone floor as he tilted his head to look at their readable reaction. It was nice to be getting a rise out of the insufferable little punk. But the sting wasn’t worth it. “Did I get ya?”
The silence he was met with answered it all. “Well, since you came back, I guess we were never really friends…” He felt the satisfaction crumble at the revalation. “…Don’t let the other sanses know, okay?” He never wanted to recall that sort of sting. He’d bet on that triggering them out of this, but none of that had ever even mattered, had it?
The bones shot, the real battle began, but then, suddenly, a wail broke the sound of the battle.
Where the human once stood in confident malice, a crying, LOVEless child stood crying. Their hands held up by puppet strings their fear clear and horrible. He flinched at the sight, and then, a sharp pain filled his gut.
“Behind you~!” His sight jolted to behind him were the broken grin of a fallen devil only paled to the sharp blade it weilded.
“Now, what’s next?”
Sans gasped, jolting like he’d heard a loud noise. He sat up, frantically touching at his shirt and gasping for air. His vision seemed unclear, his eyes disoriented, he was acting like something was on him.
His eye glowed and sparked without his volition, not at all registering the other clearly in the room. The skeleton started crying and shaking and breathing heavily, totally disassociated from the waking reality of safety.
The sudden wrestling of sheets and a sharp intake of breath made Mettaton jump from his place at the desk, and he whipped around to look at San’s. Instantly, worry shot over his features. There was a spark of blue light before sobs were filling the room, and Mettaton hesitantly he stood to come over to the bed. He wasn’t entirely sure what had happened, or how to help. The skeleton didn’t look aware of his surroundings yet.
“Sans, dear, are you alright?” Mettaton asked lowly, not touching Sans just yet in fear he might react badly for the both of them. His voice was a soft coo when he spoke, “It’s alright, You’re alright...” Whatever had scared Sans so much, the android wasn’t sure he wanted to know the gravity of what they were dealing with anymore...
