Can you analyze the relationship between lily and cult from dear my living dead?
Poetically tragic love, linked to imminent death. A great merciless, disastrous institution. The obligation to choose, between loving and serving.
Karuto, or Cult, boy who carries the weight of an old sin on his chest. He remembers with some constancy the murder of his mother, caused by his father.
Comparison and denial, he compared himself to the father who killed his mother, he strongly denied that he couldn't be like him, even though his chest said otherwise.
What would he be able to do to be with the love of his life? A dangerous desire, an equally reckless choice. Either they would die together, or she would die so that she could be tied to him forever, or until the last breath of life remained within him.
The lie loaded with the weight of guilt, he lied to her, because he knows it is wrong, and perhaps imagines that she would not forgive him… Or, to be more fair, so that her conscience would not weigh, "he killed me so I could be by his side, because I insisted."
Sick love, possessive love, it's easier to make her just his than to imagine her far away. Gratitude for the church that welcomed him, so grateful to her that he wouldn't think about the possibility of breaking away from her rules, even if she is mainly responsible for their separation.
Lily could go back home, meet her parents, even if she wanted so much to stay by his side, she would save herself. But he… gave himself up to death, to avoid the excruciatingly intense pain he would feel when she left.
Unable to do so, he thought of another alternative. He killed her and brought her back, tied her to him in an eternal bond. Is there anything more selfish? Possessive, suffocating love, with no exits or windows, where death is the easier choice compared to dealing with pain.
Lily, the innocently naive girl, who just wanted to be free and live with her lover
Karuto, the boy with a tragic, suicidal, intensely powerful and inexplicably selfish love.
Repeating his father's story, he became just like him.
me when the um
Yugi twin theory
OK LISTEN I HAVE A BRILLIANT THEORY! Or more so this theory supports another huge theory.
So if the TBHK fans haven’t read Dear My Living Dead then you have too, but in the manga oneshot the male protagonist Karuto killed Lilia because he loved her a lot and was afraid of letting her go since they were supposed to split apart.
Karuto didn’t want to kill Lily but he also did, he only restrained himself from doing so because Lily still had parents and because he didn’t want to be like his father, who killed his wife because he loved her a lot.
Now to the TBHK fans who have read DMLD we all know that the creator most likely took that manga and turned it into TBHK, but a lot more continuous and complexed.
The first time we figured out Hanako had a younger brother and killed him was the book stack arc and little mermaid chapter ( ch.16 ), but even till this day the manga has not told us why Hanako killed Tsukasa. But, in the Young Exorcist chapter ( ch.9 ) Hanako says to Kou that he had a special reason for doing it, or implies that he did.
So to get to the point, I think that Hanako’s ‘special reason’ why he killed Tsukasa is because of his possessiveness and love for him.
Hanako and Karuto have some similar characteristics, and Karuto is equally as possessive of the people he loves, which is Lily.
There has been a lot of evidence that Hanako is in fact, possessive of those he cares for, which is mostly Yashiro and Tsukasa. There is also a lot of evidence of why the ‘Hanako killed Tsukasa because of brotherly love’ theory could possibly be true. Hanako canonically loves his little brother, Tsukasa is his most prized possession, and while their relationship may be confusing it’s also has healthy aspects. I wouldn’t be surprised if the theory is true ( Yes I would ).
no thoughts, just lily and karuto
Since I don’t know how to draw… I WANT… No, no, no… I NEED… A FAKE ILLUSTRATION (it can be doodle) OF FENG ZIFU WITH KARUTO, COOKING COOKIES IN THE KITCHEN! YES! I LOVE THEM SINCE THE ORIGINS!
