I have new and updated caps of Aldes (after fixing him up at the Black Emporium) but i have to fix Karyas skin tone and lip gloss i forgot to get rid of it. i found a hair mod that fits Karyas hair style enough to use too! its funny cus i had drawn her with a braided Mohawk before
i wanted to say Aldes, but in truth its probably Karya. due to many choices being made for her. like drinking the Well. and then Solas/Trespasser happens
What would be karyas reaction to being brought to adamant, and subsequently what are their thoughts/reactions to the fade/nightmare? On a happier note, how good are they at wicked grace
being brought to Adamant, im sure she would be nervous but ready. i think it all depends on who their Inquisitor is.
now if its Aldes their older Brother me and Bro actually did this part in our RP and i can share some snippets from it. also because i can and Karya was supposed to be a self insert OC bringing her to the Fade is secret cop out to choosing.
no doodles this time just some Edited snippets of the RP under cut.
And before you read all this Karya would probably lose unless Aldes is there as shes marginally better then him (but they both are better then Cullen!~)
Edit: i added a lot more then i thought i was going to. the writing is mine and Bros so the flow might be better in places cus im borrowing Bros replys to fill it out.
Karya is shocked by there survival. having fallen along side Aldes as he opened the tear in the fade. she stays close unsure. “it is nothing like when i walk the Fade … so large and frightening.”
“Karya, Karya, Karya, why ARE you even here? you’ve always been a burden. even now you are Nothing. you will be forgotten by them all, nothing but a shadow to the families Heros” the dark voice echoes, filling Karyas mind with images, dark thoughts.
“ i’m not nothing” she whispers. the demons are upon them now, and she pushes herself even harder into the fight. almost there, almost safe.
they reached the nest of the spider and prepared for battle. there where so many Fearlings, Aldes grumbled something about spiders. what spiders? she thought, her Fearlings looked nothing like spidersLarge black eyes, gaunt and wasted away. Fearlings taken shape of herself, corrupted and crazed, screaming at the loneliness, clawing at her to bring her down. her blood ran cold with each one killed.
“We needto clear a path!” Stroud declares.
“Go, I’llcover you.” Hawke takes to his side, sharp eyes watching the impossibly large demon draw close.
“No. Youwere right. The Grey Wardens caused this. A Warden must-”
Hawke cutsStroud off. “A Warden must help them rebuild! That’s your job!Corypheus is mine.”
Aldes looksback to them, the world around them shaking, no time to think “Stroud” he declares making eye contact withthem both.
“Inquisitor,it has been an honor” Stroud wastes no time before turning back on the beast, running into battle “ For the Wardens!” He cries.
Aldes watches them leaving the Fade. Cassandra and Cole blink away behind Solas, Hawk close on their heels. He turns back hopingmaybe Stroud would be able to join them. catching off guard the Warden flies into his arms, magicpushing them closer the the rift. Karya stands strong in front of the beast.
“GO!”she yells, eyes wild, fire and lightning shoots from her staffpushing the fear demon but not holding it back “GO!”
Aldes looks wide eyed to Karyas back, his little sibling fighting herder then he’s ever seen. gripping the stunned warden tighter he pulls him along, a prayer on his lips. as they touch the tear he feels himself lurch and spin, a tingle in his teeth and a shiverover skin. yet he lands on the other side standing. Stroud is alive and awake. ableto now stand on his own.
there all therewaiting. the fight in Adamant over. his generals, his inner circle.
Solas is quick to walk upto him a fire in his eyes, a cold fire “no … no, do not tell me youleft her there!” his outrage is sudden.
Aldes lookshollow, feels hollow, but he stands tall. “ she gave me no choice” heturns to the rift raising his hand, it doesn’t hurt this time. there’sno flash and static. it feels easier, he understands it better. He hesitates. Karyas still on the other side, but so is the demon. he closes itwith a quick grasp of the air, the force of it slamming shut sendsout a shock wave. many scouts fall to it.
“i wassupposed to stay” Stroud says quietly. the air is heavy, withwar, blood, and death.
As the groupheads off to care for different things, some following theinquisitor, some helping to attend to the wounded, Cole was the onlyone to stay behind. A tangle of something heavy pulling at his chestas he looked to where the Rift once was. He eventually notices asmall sparrow on the ground and moves to it, gently lifting it intohis hands. the poor thing barely clinging to life, broken in many places. blood dusting its feathers and his fingers.
He gasps softlyas he realizes what exactly he held in his hands and rushed to findsomeone to heal it.
Solas haven taken his time walking away was closest. deep in thought, he looks to his side when he hears Cole rushing upto him “ what is it cole?” he asks, keeping himself even and in check. no need to to worry the spirit with yet more sorrow.
close enough now he can see the sparrow in closes hands, foolishly he feels hope blossom in his chest. yes, he can tell, he can feel her magic. an almost perfect form. “she’s hurt” Cole says quietly, unsteady with worry.
Solas makes no move to take the bird from him, but stands close. his fingers hover over the small form, careful magic mending small broken bones and torn flesh “we would have never noticed her, not without you” he says softly, his gaze gentle, open relief of happiness. Karya twitches in Coles fingers but does not wake.
Cole keeps his palms steady, gentle, careful not to hurt her “she’ll be ok now?” his worry is less but still laces his tone.
“yes, she will be ok …. take her somewhere where she could safely turn back when she regains consciousness.” Solas pulls his hands away looking at the bird, knowing now he was in far too deep “i must inform her brother … Cole, keep her safe”
Karya dreams of darkness, of the nightmares words and her sacrifice. with a start she awakens, her little head shooting up still lost in thoughts of pain and of her escape, the tumble and pull of the Rift.
where am i? she thought, dazed. under her sore but alive body she felt something cool and soft, twisting around she realized where she was. she had made it!
“welcome back, Karya” Cole said, so happy to see her awake. he moves from his spot on her cot and carefully sets her down.
she still felt too weak, her magic drained. but with focus and a slow pull eventually she turns back, a flash of magic and thin smoke. back to normal her clothing was torn in places, singed and stained with her own blood. Tears pricked her eyes as she looked to Cole from the cot “ i made it, i.. i thought for sure i wasn’t going to be fast enough, not with all the pain” her voice cracks and she hugs herself laughter bubbling up, fear on the edges, too much.
Cole couches in front of her “ you proved the nightmare wrong. it was scary and now it’s over and you feel wonderful.”
the tears fall from her eyes as she holds in a sob, she was quick moving into his space and wrapping her arms around his shoulders. she could have died, she would have died, she should have, and then she would have never be able to see them all again. she had no words, and hoped only he could understand.
Cole doesn’t try to give her words. she doesn’t need words now, she needs holding. he hesitates at first, simply letting her hang onto him. before he too puts his arms around her “ it’s going to be okay”
soon her quite sobs no longer wrack her body in his arms, slowly she relaxes. with a sniffle she lets him go, hands clinging to him before falling away. her eyes are puffy and red, the discoloration fading into her cheeks. “thank you Cole” she says softly, finely finding her voice.
before Cole can respond the tent flap opens and Solas stands framed in light. Karys eyes are quickly drawn to him from her place kneeling on the ground with Cole “ we thought you had died. I- …” he comes over kneeling along side them, hands reaching out touching her face. making sure she is there before he pulls her into his arms “ i can’t lose you again Vhenan”
Cole watches the moment in quite before deciding it best to give them space. quite and unseen he leaves her tent, ready to help tend to the wounded.
