the next person i want to talk about is @kasbrekker. i have a great deal of respect for gray. i admire how honest and strong they are and how they’re always trying to improve as a person. because of it, i find them inspiring and down to earth. every interaction that i’ve had with them has been lovely since gray is kind person with a good sense of humour. their passion concerning social and political issues is admirable. also i think it’s cute and funny how they adopt so many fictional characters as their children haha. gray is a strong individual and i’m glad we’ve started interacting more. they are someone i would like to become good friends with. thank you for the send!

hi! i came across your post about fight club where you mention mad max and how it denounces violence against women just by not depicting it and i'm writing a thesis about this. i've read mulvey and she goes very briefly into voyeurism which can explain why misogynistic violence is often portrayed BUT i dont really have a solid foundation with just that so i was wondering if maybe you had a book or article or author you could rec me? you seem like you've studied abt this and i cant find anything

I know I post a lot of long winded media analysis on this blog, which may have tricked some ppl into thinking I’m in academia. In fact I’m a musician and everything I know about media analysis/social justice/feminism I learned from having conversations with fans during my 16 years of participation in online fandom.

But I know a few of the people who follow me *are* in academia, or at the very least spend more time reading nonfiction books than I do, so...

Can anybody recommend some good books/articles/research studies/etc. for @kasbrekker here?

@kasbrekker - just to be clear, you’re talking about welcome to the night vale right? i’ve heard about the one and have seen a book that they’ve written in bookstores, but haven’t actually checked it out. thank you for reminding me of that series. i’ll check it out ^^
