Katie glared at the girl in the front seat of the car, tapping her foot as she refused not to get in. "Can we go? Please? I don't have all night, Kathryn." The girl snapped, sighing an exasperated sigh as she finished speaking. The last thing Katie wanted to do was get in the car with Olive and go to another stupid party. They'd gone out every night this week and she was over it. It wasn't just that the parties were starting to get lame, but so was Olive. All the girl did was find guys to sleep with and leave Katie to walk home.
"No." She said, sighing and turning around. "You have fun; I'm going to go find something better to do." She raised her hand in a wave and started to walk down the sidewalk, in the opposite wave from where Olive was going. She had no idea where she was going to end up tonight, now that she had ditched her friends. She didn't want to go to another dumb party, but she also didn't want to stay in. She wanted to do something fun.
She made her way into town and finally found her way to the park. Most people had gone home for the night, but there were still a few people straggling around. She walked over to the merry-go round and sat down, pushing hard off the ground to make it start spinning.
