Damen's eyes lit up as he glanced at the numbers on the TV, "Kastor!" He felt his brother's forearm brush against his bicep, the long, coarse hairs tickling him. He stifled his laughter. "Look! I'm so close to your score!" "Oh?" Kastor's eyes narrowed, he chuckled. "You must've been practicing behind my back," he jostled Damen's hair into a curly mess. Damen didn't respond, his eyes locked on to the screen. "You've never beaten any of my high scores before, so don't feel disappointed-" Still not a word left Damen's mouth. His teeth dug into his bottom lip. The soft, playful expression Kastor was used to seeing hardened into determination. Kastor yawned stretching his legs out until his foot was touching the wall. The screen went black, Damen jolted up. His expression broken. "Oh, shit," Kastor fumbled around until he found the power cord for their console. "I'm sorry, Damen." "What happened?" "You know these outlets, so loose," he sighed. "I keep telling Dad to fix them, but you know dad." Kastor chuckled waving around the cord. "Want me to plug it back in? You can try again." Damen rubbed the back of his neck, "no." He tossed the controller.

His laughter stung at Damen's heart. "I'm not afraid." Deep down he knew Kastor was right, but still couldn't admit it to anyone. His eyes drifted away from Kastor and to the drops of sunlight that sparkled on the water's surface. "You know, Kastor-"

I kind of don't hate this fic. I'm starting to remember what this story was about and why I gave Damen water trauma. It's only about 300 words so far. Maybe eventually I'll find the time to finish it
