I'm still riding the high of that nathlie-finds-out-adrien-is-chat comic to the point that I'm actually writing a fic Abt the concept, but it starts when Nathalie realizes that she's ALIVE right after the wish and I wanted to share a wip of it because I just think it's neat and that it stands alone as a drabble pretty well.

The moment you realize that you’re still alive, you know that something has gone horribly wrong.

You should have stopped breathing hours ago. At some point, you must have fallen asleep, probably in a subconscious plea for your descent from reality to be painless. It was something that had to happen. Something you brought upon yourself, that you knew that you deserved, as much as you had hoped to prolong your life. Now, the hot air of your room fills your healthy lungs in a way that’s new and painful. And you can’t stop breathing, as your heart beats faster, and energy is coursing through you as if you were just shocked back to life. You grit your teeth, and with your newfound vitality you feel a molar crack. Pain sears through you, and you’re acutely aware of it. Your mind is loud. You can’t think. You can only be.

Being is bad. Living hurts.

You don’t know how long it takes for the shock to your system to die down. Minutes, hours? You lie in bed for longer than you need to, silently wondering if maybe you have died, and this is just the pain that the afterlife has greeted you with. But it feels too real when you force yourself out of bed, and the pain comes back to your jaw. You force your hand to it instinctively, and work yourself out of the exoskeleton you no longer need.

You can’t bring yourself to act surprised when you see the foyer, with the demolished floor and the cracked walls. You can’t do anything but stare at it with disdain, until you see a familiar face emerge from the chasm, and your furrowed brows relax. Ladybug (No, not just Ladybug… She has the black cat miraculous too…) emerges from the darkness below, surveying the surroundings with a taut expression, eyes searching. She wrings water from her long braid, and her eyebrows arch when they meet yours, and pretty soon she’s using the black cat’s staff to spring into place beside you.

“He made his wish,” is all she says.

You can’t make eye contact with her. You’re stuck glaring at the debris.

“And where is he now?” is all you can respond.

“Gone.”

“Good.”

And you somewhat expect her to end it there, to leave you with your thoughts and with your guilt. She’s a smart child, you realize. She knows that you were Mayura. She owes you no explanation. But she doesn’t leave. Something lingers, and it’s troubling her.

“I’m going to meet Adrien in London,” she says, “I have something to return to him. He has family there, right?”

You nod. 

“Good. He’ll stay there until this can be fixed. Do you think that’s possible?”

“Yes, but–”

“Adrien can never find out about this, Nathalie.” Her eyes are piercing into you. She can’t be older than a teenager, but you feel like you’ve been held hostage.

You swallow the lump in your throat. “Understood. Go, do what you need to do.”

This is a Miraculous Ladybug Sideblog! Not trying to sanitize my main or anything, but I feel like if anyone followed it specifically for ML stuff they'd be pretty disappointed.
