update I'm about halfway through Arcadia and dyiiinnnggggg oh my god it's so cute and i love them so much but also your writing is so beautiful!!

i wrote that story sooo long ago and i feel like ive grown so much as a writer since then that it’s very hard for me not to look at it critically and with scorn, and to only see all the things that are wrong with it. this is such a nice reminder that it still has merit even if i don’t think it’s my best work. thank you!! i’m so glad you’re enjoying it 💗

So basically all you need to know is that Dr. Cameron is the biggest cutie on the show (I mean just look at her.)

Alright jokes aside even if you haven’t seen the show I’m sure you’ve heard something about it and literally every single character is written incredibly well. During the first seasons House’s team is Foreman (who is House little), Chase (which will eventually do whatever House says) and then there’s Cameron who is supposed to be the “conscience” of the team.

She’s got very strong morals and of course like any female character with a personality that doesn’t fit into the “girlboss” category (lies anyway she IS a girlboss) she became one of the most unfairly hated female characters of all time when the show first aired. Oh and lowkey spoiler (but not really bc it’s hinted in the pilot and confirmed in like ep 3) she had a huge crush on House during the first season and I truly believe this played a huge role on the hate she got.

Also in later seasons we’ve got another female character (Thirteen) who is absolutely amazing and people couldn’t stop comparing and pinning them against each other and blah blah blah which made everything worse but I’m not in the mood to talk about this topic but you know what I mean.

That being said nowadays I really think most people have changed their opinion of her and now she’s one of the most beloved characters. Like the show came out in the early 2000s and female characters didn’t have it easy back then (not like they have it much easier now lmao but still.)

She knows her values, isn’t afraid to speak up, has flaws like every human and is one of the few characters that didn’t drastically change through the seasons (which doesn’t mean that she didn’t grow!) and I don’t wanna spoil it for you but her ending is very fitting for her character. If you ever watch the show I recommend you to read what the creator said about Cameron leaving and why they did that because it’s sooo right for her.

At the end of the day she’s a supporting character but if you focus on her you really see the show (and House’s character) with different eyes which is why I recommend to do a Cameron-focused rewatch of the series at least once lmao.

And lastly her relationships with the other characters are 💯. House x Cameron is a very interesting dynamic (I personally don’t ship them romantically although I can see why some people do), Cameron x Chase are amazing too and Cameron x Foreman will make you wanna scream at your tv (mostly at Foreman tbh.) I just wish we would’ve seen more of Cameron and Wilson or Cameron and Thirteen together too.
