women’s history month: hoda katebi
Hello, and welcome back to another episode of badass women we’re celebrating in march. Today, we will be talking about one of my favorite people right now who is so understated in my opinion: hoda katebi. Hoda is the founder of her political-fashion blog (yes, you can be political and look cute at the same time) joojoo azad which sheds light on marginalized issues that women of color face in america, the middle-east, and asia. Not only does she advocate for equality, she is also known for her boycott list, which is a list of clothing companies she boycotts due to unethical standards in the ways they make clothes. Instead of promoting popular brands like zara and forever 21, she works with small, ethical companies. As a political-fashion blogger myself, i look to hoda for inspiration as she continues to revolutionize the social media landscape, without making her content palatable for everyone. Instead, she says what’s on her mind, and does so in such an eloquent way that there is no way you could dare she’s wrong. Make sure you check out her blog www.joojooazad.com !! there’s a lot of cool things she’s working on you don’t want to miss.
