to preface this: ordinarily, what a celebrity's significant other does in their time is none of my business. however, i was sent photos of some tattoos that Katelyn Rose Larson did and i have a high index of suspicion that gen AI was used, either
a. by herself, or
b. by the client when providing her with references/requests, which she did not edit when preparing the design and when tattooing the client. in my opinion, even if she did not use gen AI, not refining requests from clients casts serious doubts on the credibility of her work.
the feet on the left side have 4 toes. the feet on the right side have 3 toes. additionally, the anatomy is not standardised at all in all 4 feet.
there are hard lines in the frog's right elbow, one of which appears to be confluent with the outline of the petal below it - something that gen AI tends to get confused with and has trouble differentiating.
the right upper arm is too thin and the forearm is too thick and short, compared to the left side.
the left hind leg of the frog is very strange - the tibia/fibula should not be able to flex behind the femur and pelvis like that.
there is a weird border on a petal of one of the flowers that serves no purpose.
2. "just a floating rock"
the flower on the left has one blunt petal and one pointed petal. i'm not sure about the rationale for this stylistic choice.
the poppy on the right is more sus. the petals are all irregularly sized and the configuration of the petals doesn't make sense. it's unclear if the bottom petal is a single large petal, with a crease in the centre, or 2 separate petals.
to extrapolate on the above, the crease (?) in the bottom petal(s) also lines up with the stem. as mentioned above, gen AI struggles with differentiating outlines and has a tendency to accidentally merge them.
i waffled back and forth about including this one because it might not be attributed to gen AI, but just poor design and execution. however, what convinced me was the position of the lighter. it is almost physically impossible to bend your thumb around the flame like that. most people either hold the lighter with the button/flint wheel next to their thumb, but never the way it's shown in the tattoo. it's a very strange error, especially if the artist is drawing using a reference photo. however, gen AI is infamous for messing up hands and fingers, so make of that what you will.
anyway, besides that, i'm not sure what's going on with the upper limb of the person on the left: the hand is not anatomically accurate - the pinky is thicker than the pointer. the thenar and hypothenar eminence should still be visible when holding a lighter. the forearm looks like it is merging into the shoulder.
the cigarettes also look disproportionately long.
although not gen AI-related, the O, V and R appear so much thicker than the other letters.
very unlikely gen AI but the lack of kerning between the double Ls has bothered me since i first saw it.
the bottom pic is how i would have fixed the kerning. it's a subtle change but the text flows better because the spacing between the Ls is now similar to those between the other letters, instead of the big gap before.
why am i posting this? because fuck gen AI. clearly, going to get a tattoo from her for parasocial purposes is already ill-advised and i strongly recommend against doing so. but now knowing that she possibly uses gen AI (or just has a record of producing somewhat lacklustre work)? absolutely fucking not. you deserve to spend your well-earned cash elsewhere.
