Can we ever really appreciate enough the courage, commitment and dedication it takes to conquer the inner critic and create? We know the songs @katemillsmusic is in the process of recording are going to be awesome for at least these three reasons: 1. she is singing them; 2. she won't allow herself to settle for releasing anything less than her absolute best; and 3. she has already performed some of them on @alivewithclivetvshow, and they sound great! I'm probably not supposed to say that. I'm probably supposed to make it look easy, and say that every time I open my mouth, sonic-gold comes soaring out. This is supposed to be my most favorite thing in the world, so I should be super happy the whole time, right?? . . I don't think that's how making good art works, actually. At least, I hope I'm not! I have a feeling that any time we look at someone who does something really really well, that behind the finished product we admire so much, there are many hours of learning, practicing, tweaking, and probably a fair amount of frustration and self-doubt. . It's been a roller coaster experience for sure! One minute it takes all my patience to not share the (unfinished) song with you as soon as I leave the studio because I'm so pumped about it. And the next I wonder if everyone who told me I could sing was just being polite 😅😕😵 . Can you relate? I would be super encouraged to hear your experiences of working hard to do whatever is it you love, whether it's art, music, theater, starting a business, getting in shape, whatever! (and most likely, others will be encouraged as well!) 💜 . . I am SO SO proud of these songs and what we have so far. So I'm going to continue working hard and fighting to give the BEST performance I possibly can. I really can't wait to share it with you. Thanks for all your engagement along the way 💖🤗 .
