A situation has arisen that I always knew would, but now it’s finally time to deal with it…

My younger cousins are old enough that they want to read my fanfics and IM NOT COOL W THAT. But I’ve talked about it for years and just yesterday they asked me what my username is and I told them that I’m never going to tell them, but. It’s literally MY FIRST NAME. It wouldn’t take a lot of digging to find me.

So I believe the time has come to say good-bye to KatieK101, as much as that literally pains me 🥲🥲🥲 My bad for not thinking about this very situation in middle school and making something more anonymous than my first name and favorite number.

SO with that being said, expect a new username name here and on ffn/AO3 within the next week or two probably. I’ll update everyone accordingly.

well here’s a preview of the opening and here’s the general tag for that story as I’m drafting it, but the basic premise is that the heroine (Alice), mostly through circumstances of her own making, finds herself in deep shit with a mob boss, concocts a scheme to sell him out to the Joker, and very, very quickly finds herself in over her head when J-man (surprise, surprise) isn’t content to play by her rules. I’m angling for a roughly 50/50 split POV between her and him and a more expansive view of Gotham and its underbelly (think more Bad Jokes than Pastimes). I’ve been trying to get it off the ground for a while and I hope this is the year for it 💀 pray for me

for Bad Jokes, aside from the occasional chapter in Funny Business or throuple nonsense, I think the next installment is going to be like a 5-chapter offer involving a new baddie (and an old one), and I more or less know what I want to do with it plotwise, but no idea when I’ll get started 😫 next time Harley comes knocking at my door, I reckon

@katiek101 yeah it’s a pretty good super edition and I love seeing how Heathertail’s and Breezepelt’s relationship blossomed! It was so interesting and they really cared for each other. Their daughters are beautiful! 💜

I already shared it, but this post makes a some very concerning points about FFN and warns that the site won’t be around forever. I’ve already moved most of my works over to AO3, except for Dawn Frost. 

The reason is because I’ve polished all of my fics before moving them over. Some of them have underwent major edits. I want to do the same with DF because it's one of my oldest fics and my writing has improved since I completed it, and I want that to be reflected. The problem I’ve run into is this:

I’ve had longtime readers ask me not to make any major edits because it’s so nalstogic for them. And I understand! But I feel like, if I’m going to go through all the work of moving the chapters over and making any sort of edits, I should just do a major overhaul. Much of the plot would remain the same, but I regret writing it in first person perspective so I would want to rewrite it in third person. I might add or delete a few scenes as well.

But ultimately I would like to know y’all’s opinion! I get that it wouldn’t be as nolstogic as a read, but please note that I would not update the chapters over on FFN. I won’t touch that copy. It will remain the same until FFN crashes. The new copy would only be for AO3.
