Please do not buy anything from Katieotter, she is actually going to use the money to go to a trip to Hawaii, we asked her multiple of times to show us her proof of her dogs bill to which she had failed to produce.

Alright, Anon. Thanks for the warning, I suppose. However, @katieotter is a personal friend of mine that I have met in-person before I even knew she had a tumblr and have known for almost a handful of years now and is an artist from whom I have commissioned artwork before. I am heavily inclined to believe that she’ll use any of the money she makes through purchases of her artwork in exactly the way that she says she will because she is an amazing and talented person who loves her dogs very much.

Her dogs are lovely little puppos but whether or not she’s going to be using the money I would spend on her art to help her four-legged friend or go to Hawaii, doesn’t really matter to me. If I want to spend money on her art, I want to spend money on her art. What she does with the money I -choose- to spend is up to her.

Now, that being said, I could see how this warning would be more helpful to someone who wants to buy her art purely in an effort to help a fund for her dog and a person who has said as much, sure, but I never even mentioned that? I reblogged her content because, LOOK AT IT! It’s awesome! I’ve always been a fan of her work before I even got to know her better!

Even if it wasn’t to help her dog, you just ended up with a rad piece of artwork that she spent time creating, printing and sending out which -you- ultimately made the decision to purchase, so I don’t really see what the problem is…? Whatever she’d use the funds for, you wouldn’t walk away empty handed! Now, if you weren’t getting anything in return and were providing funds, like I said, -purely- in an effort to help her dog and had actual reason to believe that’s not what your charitable –donation– was going towards, then yes, you have grounds for this beef you seem to have with her, but that doesn’t seem to be the case here at all.

If you don’t want to buy her art because you’re unsure about any of it, fine. That’s -your- decision.However, if I’m going to buy her art, it’s because I want it for myself or to give as a gift and to support her as an artist. I’m getting something in return for supporting her, so, just like anything else you -purchase- from someone, at the end of the day, how she chooses to use that support is up to her.
