they're telling me that you can go to the IMAX next month and get your face blasted by a fifty foot tall image of Roger Daltrey's chiseled abs circa 1974 on a Wednesday Afternoon. You can do this for $19 and commute to the closest theater location through rush hour traffic. Incredible
archive 81 is funny to me bc someone will be like "we still don't know anything about the disappearance of Daniel powell" and it's like. Well. They say he works for the new york times now so. Try there?
Just finished wuthering heights, and it surprised me how much I liked it, even though it took me a whole extra month to get through cos of the holidays, and I wasn't too keen on reading Heathcliff Get His Revenge On The Kin Of His Ex at the same time.
However.... I really really liked it. I like how everything is haunted, everyone is haunted by having made the wrong choice and how that choice defines them (not just Cathy & Heathcliff, but in Nelly's saying that demise of her employers time and again came directly from her choices to ignore or to say nothing)
Heathcliff's obsession with Cathy makes it prime for a tragic love story, but not only is that reducing its broader themes of class, race, abuse, and generational violence and trauma to Just A Gothic (Yet Marketable) Romance, but it makes it much less interesting, too.
finding out that Jame Somerton was making six figures after posting that "I'm ending my channel because our patreon numbers went down" made me pretty damn annoyed!
