lrb reminds me that the older I get, the more grief I feel for laura palmer
i am happy because everyone loves me!
Marty Mcfly is the best protagonist because he’s simultaneously so awkward and so cool. He says insane ominous things to strangers. He has the goofiest run I’ve ever seen. He plays loud music no one gets. All the women are in love with him. All the men are impressed with him or threatened by him. The children look at him like he’s the coolest person in the world. His name is Marty Mcfly. That’s such a sick name.
what a journey, huh?
and, look, I’m not complaining, not at all, but this is why it’s very important to be abundantly clear and specific with your Etsy witch.

Tag! You're It! - My 2nd year film :D
spaghetti westerns are good because they're always titled something like Is This Seat Taken? For You, My Friend, It Is On the House
i love you archival work. i love you alphabetizing. i love you sorting. i love you reshelving. i love you document restoration. i love you shelf reading. i love you inventorying. i love you analysis. i love you archival work.
I watched that long video essay about the monkees and have been reading mike nesmith's memoir (infinite tuesday) as a kind of supplementary material to my samsara summer, which has been really interesting, chiefly in how, time and again, the thesis of having to perform a character with the actor's Given Name/Identity was not just stressful, but extremely challenging and demoralizing thanks to the cognitive dissonance between TV'S Mike Nesmith Monkee and the living, breathing Robert Michael Nesmith, how those are two separate identities and people with the face and name of a single person
AND
how Matt Johnson does this to himself VOLUNTARILY and has for the last near 20 years for a much smaller audience, and has often deliberately blurred those lines of character and performer
much to consider
Goin' Down From Season 2, Episode 10 - "The Wild Monkees" & Season 2, Episode 13 - "The Monkees in Texas"
