“Okay, so hear me out,” Anderson said, looking around first to make sure no one was overhearing the conversation. “Yes, the cops are technically after me, and yes, I did trash that store, but if anyone asks, you haven’t seen me. Besides, everyone knows all the garbage they sell there is fake. I could make better replicas if I tried, I’m sure of it.”
And he had indeed trashed the store. All the fake figurines were shattered to pieces on the ground, the store’s front window was smashed, and several pieces of furniture were disturbed, as if some sort of commotion had gone on inside the store, and someone had shoved the furniture aside. But what Andy did not mention, and he couldn’t, was that the reason the store was in such conditions was not that he had personally entered and vandalized. No, that was too much effort, and it was easy to get caught like that. Besides, he truly held no interest in the store and it’s blatant ripping-off of legit works. No, the reason it was trashed was that he had accidentally, yet again lost control of his telekinetic abilities in a brief fit of teenage rage, and the result had been chaotic for that one specific store. At least no one had seen it actually happen… but unfortunately, this person had spotted him as he fled the scene.
