hey bookie, I'm not sure I've even seen you talk about this, but what is your whole view on lgbt?

hey kayla my beloved!!! i probably should’ve clarified this on the aroace ask, so i appreciate you asking!! i believe that marriage was created by God solely for between one man and one women, that humans are created man and woman and trying to change that is sinful and harmful to all parties.

i also believe that attraction and temptation are not sins in and of themselves, as you can’t control what you’re tempted by or who you’re attracted to. jesus was tempted by satan and still did not sin. sin comes about through temptation, but temptation is not a sin in and of itself, rather how you choose to act on it can be. so because of that, i believe there can be christians who are attracted to the same sex or who do have body/gender dysmorphia and feel the same things secular trans people can feel, like that they don’t fit in their body, they feel more like a boy or a girl or nonbinary.

but i think if they have a real faith in Christ, belief in the existence of their own sins, and knowledge of the fact that the bible does address homosexuality and transgenderism and is clearly against those things, they can still choose to be a christian and exercise self-control over any temptations or sinful attractions they might face.

im not sure if you’ve heard the term before? but a some christians go by the term “side b christian” (@duchess-of-mischief is way more knowledgeable about the other sides; there’s a whole axis. if you’re interested in what the other sides are). side b christians admit that they struggle with same-sex attraction or gender dysphoria, realize that it would be a sin if acted on, and choose to either live celibate/unmarried, or sometimes seek out a relationship with the opposite sex despite maybe having no attraction towards them (this actually might be geared more towards a different side; i’m not sure).

a lot of times i’ll tell people i’m side b because of the tiny bit of attraction i have towards girls sometimes, and sometimes i’ll tell them because they arent a christian and it’s a little easier to understand with a label attached. i also am technically aroace, but i try not to cling to closely to that; and i’ve never had gender dysmorphia so i wouldn’t know how to handle that from a side b perspective.

So I just thought of this at 3:30 am but imagine hotch texting the reader that the team is getting ready to head home from a case, expecting the reader to see the text when she wakes up but she responds right away. Then he calls her and she ends up falling asleep to his voice.

Kayla hi my friend! hope you’re doing okay. This is soooo fucking cute, okay here we go:

You weren’t fighting sleep tonight like usual. You didn’t know why but for some reason you mind and body weren’t letting you get comfortable. You’re exhausted, truly tired and yet here you are, staring at the clock.

3:30 a.m. on the dot.

Groaning in frustration at the clock you turn over, sliding onto Aaron’s side of the bed before opening your phone. You puttering around on it, scrolling through social media apps and shopping apps before Aaron’s name pops up your screen:

Wanted to let you know we’re on the way home though you’re sleeping. I love you sweet girl.

You type back a reply immediately. You see the text bubble pop up, eagerly awaiting his response, craving some sort of contact from him when he starts to call you.

“Hi.” You say timidly.

“Hi yourself, what’re you doing awake?” He’s scolding a bit and you chuckle.

“I think I miss you so much I can’t sleep.”

He exhales, and you know in this moment he’s beating himself up. “I miss you too, is there anything I can do?”

“Just stay on the phone and talk to me? Maybe read me something?”

“Give me one second sweetheart.” He murmurs. You hear him move the phone away but can still hear him when says, “Hey Reid, do you have a book? Thanks. It’s the Narrative of John Smith. Do you want me-“

“Yes, please.”

“Alright, settle in. Are you cozy?”

“As cozy as I’ll get without you here.”

“Good. Alright. I love you.”

“I love you too, Aaron.”

He begins to read, his voice smooth and soft and deep. You decide it would be boring if Aaron wasn’t reading it but you’re captivated by the sound of his voice and it eases all the tension in your body. Sinking into the bed properly you sigh, close your eyes and let his voice wash over you. It’s when you don’t mean to fall asleep, when you want to cling to his voice that you start to drift. It happens before you can even realize it.

“The world is full of obvious things which nobody by any chance ever observes.” Is the last line he reads when he hears your soft, but adorable snores coming through the phone. “I love you, sleep well.”

He hangs up, closes the book and smiles. The image of you looking so relaxed and soft in your sleep fuels him to get work done on the plane. He thinks that’s what makes time fly and when he slips into bed next to you he has no problem falling asleep with you in his arms.

the way that you're staring intensely at tsukishima's back in distaste is enough for the others around you to know that you're biting your tongue in order to spare yourself another petty argument with the giant. but the way you're clenching and unclenching your fists gives it away, too.

"hey, he didn't mean to bump into you like that," yamaguchi says, putting a hand on your shoulder and giving it a light squeeze to bring your attention to him instead, "he's just... really tall! maybe he didn't see you."

you relax yourself and slump your shoulders. yamaguchi must feel this, because he releases the small hold he has on you. "he just thinks he's sooo great," you respond, a not-so-small hint of snark to your tone. "always going around and walking like he owns the damn school or something."

yamaguchi gives you a nervous laugh, no doubt trying to come up with an excuse for tsukishima's all-around attitude around you.

you decide to turn around and look at the freckle-faced boy. "i know you're his best friend, and i respect your decision," you start, sounding tired at having to tell yamaguchi over and over again how much you detest tsukishima and all that he stands for, "but that tall, blonde, blind as a bat," you don't pay attention to the way that yamaguchi is pointing behind you, desperately trying to find a way to tell you non-verbally that you should stop, "rude, arrogant excuse for a guy is such a-"

"a what?" the suddenness of tsukishima behind you makes you yelp, and you turn back around to find him towering over you (menacingly, so). you start to wonder how he got behind you so fast when you just saw him walking the other direction.

you stutter, trying to find your place in your own train of thought. "i- you- what?" you feel yourself flush at the close proximity, and you curse silently that you wish you were taller so you could step on him to rid of the smug look on his face that's slowly forming.

he bends over slightly, a sly grin making its way to his lips, and you respond by putting your hands up in a surrender motion, "cat got your tongue?"

you shove him roughly, regaining your composure (but not regaining the flesh color back to your face) and stepping back to shield yourself using yamaguchi, "no, but i'll get your tongue if you come near me one more time, you straw." you smile when you witness yamaguchi hold back a snicker.

tsukishima pretends to contemplate, but you know he's trying to come up with something else to hit you with. and you aren't sure if he's serious or not when he says, "sounds more like an invite than a threat, princess."

you fume at the nickname, face growing shades and shades darker with every passing second. you don't have time to retort, because he's walking away again towards the same destination he was going before. "yeah, walk away!" you shout out, stepping in front of yamaguchi for better projection. "idiot," you mumble to yourself as an afterthought.

you pivot on your heel, and you're met with yamaguchi's face once again. except this time, he's smirking. "what?" you ask curiously.

there's a flash of contemplation that he sports for a second, before it's covered with a shrug and knowing grin. you think you prefer the smirk better- the smirk doesn't make you feel like you're out of the loop.

“are you planning on confessing to him? because I made a bet a few days ago that you would fall for him and i would like to cash in,” he declares, and you look at him in disbelief with your mouth a gape, "unless... you always turn this red whenever you have an argument with someone?"
